I’m fuming

Thu Jan 11, 2024 4:43 pm

Been a city supporter and season ticket holder since 1966. Over recent weeks, I’ve seen and heard so much rubbish and smoke screens from the club.

Firstly, why hasn’t Bulut been given an extended contest?

He’s done well already and not been able to buy any players. Surely he should be given resssurance?

Secondly - nearly half way through the the month and no players in, despite 3 going out.

All this talk of Moore but still as viewed as mud whiskey he reaxes in Dubai.

Thirdly, still no cover for a clearly struggling Jamilu Collins, after an heal injury, the absent Callum O'Dowda and the over-played and knackered Karlan Grant

And lastly, no Callum ODowda or Aaron Ramsey, despite us originally being told they were running in late November, then pushed back to January and now ODowda is out until March, which is basically the season gone.

We're now told Ramsey will start training again in 10 days time - 2/3 into January.

I know players get injured but these 2 are no good to us, as they are always injured but getting paid well.

Erol Bulut said this would be like 2 new transfers but they are crocked.

Because of the embargo we have not been able to sign any permanent signings and now we are dragging our feet again.

And before the do-gooders say we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes re transfers, the plain fact is we still haven’t signed anyone.

Erol Bulut is pissed off, in a state of limbo and our 2 best players have just not pulled their weight. Still - they are running :banghead: :banghead:

Rant over!

Re: I’m fuming

Bulut said today we have two signings that are close, could happen tomorrow.

Talk about an overreaction.

Apologies for typos - fat fingers. Plus I’m in a very bad mood/rant.

Close means nothing. He also said it could be next week or not as other clubs are talking to players. Same old

Really? We would never had noticed the bad mood had you not told us. :old: :old:

I'm with you son. I feel your anger - come and join me on the dark side!

No seriously, I get it. You make absolutely valid (although sausage fingered) points.

I think it's poor that the club haven't at least given Bulut a little reassurance that they're pleased with his results to date, with an arm tied behind his back.

I'm also sick of the constant wool pulling and procrastination with Rambo and O'Dowda - you're quite right in they're two quality players we need now, but are no good to us as semi permanent sick notes!

Things are a bit frustrating currently. The board need to pull their fingers out and back the manager before he decides to give us the birdie and go somewhere where he will be backed.

Caveat is that perhaps we're a bit cautious in coming out of this debilitating embargo for the first time.

I'm praying we get to 50 points ASAP.

Just goes to show no matter how old and mature you get when it comes to temper tantrums we can all behave like a five year old the mood takes us.

Honest answer required here: would you accept it, if the club had offered their public support in the fashion you mention...? :?

Beyond that, if anyone thinks the club are not working hard to get the players they want in, they are simply wrong... :ayatollah:

We all know things are going on behind the scenes but surely plans where in place before january it suddenly has'nt just hit the manager and owners that we might need new recruits

My only beef is nothing done early and that is what "bulut wanted" and whether its tan or dalhman handelling things or the purse strings
sorry but bulut looks very frustrated to me
And we at present go into the leeds game with nobody new on the pitch and after that we are into the 3rd week of January
so some fans including myself just get frustrated because we listen to what the mangers says he wants early door signings and ciming into the 3rd week is not early in my book.

Will the Tan lovers still back him if the transfer window is another flop. An interesting few weeks to come. Fingers crossed,Tan backs the manager. :bluescarf:

We're actually weaker as a squad going into Saturday with the two loans leaving.

Feels like we're still in an embargo :laughing6:

Monty, it's Mehmet Daman doung most of the 'dealing' and you can rest assured he wants/needs to deliver; for himself and Erol Bulut...

I understand people will be frustrated but we must remember that Erol Bulut has told Mehmet (and Tan) what he wants and they are going about their business...

Certain individuals have mocked because our preferred targets weren't in the door at 00:01 hours on 1st January 2024 but it doesn't work like that; even when the targets (and I'll use Keiffer here) 'want' to come to our club...

January is notoriously difficult and things change rapidly; and in this case Bournemouth want both a replacement and as much money as they can return...

Keep the faith; things are happening...! :ayatollah:

I agree, they've had four months to get players in... Pre signed... No contract for out manager, why would a player sign if the manager is not even being backed with a contract.

Signings are close........ Maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe.

Remember we were close with Moore in the summer but all the talk at the end of the window was he was going to Millwall...

Ramsey was always a risk and it has proved to be right, I don't think we'll see him or O'dowda this season. PR team must be saying, for god sake don't tell the press that.

We're continually strung along. Patience is running out.

Saturday who is going to play up front, Etete who has a chronic hamstring issue, Meite who is a winger....

Come one sort it out!!!

Simple question for you.

Why are people who see things differently to you automatically called Tan lovers?

Now the rant.

Hard to believe that people on here still seem to think that FM on the xbox is how transfers work & that everything is down to the club not backing the manager when there are so many variables that go into a transfer besides the club (or just Tan on here) not backing the manager. The club the player belongs to actually has a say as well as the player and neither has anything to do with the manager being backed or not but hey let's blame Tan if clubs want silly money or the player isn't available or god forbid a player doesn't fancy playing and living in Cardiff as ridiculous as it may sound to some, it's all Tans' fault for not backing the manager.

Generally people don't want to hear thst signing players depend on several different things that is outside the control of the club .. far easier to blame the club for incompetence ect ect.. people have been told many times how transfers work but a brick wall springs to mind when explaining things.

Spot on.

This is the world, not a computer simulation.

We will make signings but fans need to be patient.

It’s almost as if everyone expected us to sign five new players on New Year’s Day.

With all respect mate. What is the significance of a manager’s contract? How many times do you see a contracted manager sacked. You only have to look at Eustace and Cooper. One sacked 5th place in the league and after a good run of back to back wins. And Cooper getting shite results but given a contract extension. Yes I’m sure it provides some form of comfort to a manager. But in reality the only comfort is they’re guaranteed a payoff when sacked. Nothing else.

Re: I’m fuming

Thu Jan 11, 2024 9:33 pm

I'm certain there's much hard work going on behind the scenes but people are entitled to get frustrated - that's part of supporting any club. On any given week in the season, it's a roller coaster of opinions and emotions following City.

I may be more accepting of the current status quo if Bulut came out and said that Tan had told him he's pleased with his work and to carry on, then chat sometime in April ref: extended contract. I would think the club are still reeling from what they had to pay Big Mick when his contract was severed early!

Nobody said Tan hasn't backed the manager yet! I hope he does. I understand how transfers work,I still standby some transfers should have been made by now, considering the urgent need for more quality. Yes, most of the business will be done towards the end of the window. Back to Tan, I am thankful he funded us to get to the prem, however, changing us to red and splitting the fans was a big mistake. I genuinely think he wants to sell, but he is waiting for an acceptable offer, which is fair. I want him gone and so do others, as there has been a bad vibe around the club for many years. I agree, until we find a suitable replacement he has to stay, but we seem to be going backwards as a club. A new owner with fresh ideas and some ambition would do the club wonders. I hope this transfer window works out :bluescarf: just my opinion of course.

There is a huge amount going on behind the scenes and I’m certain we will have a least 1 player probably more through the door next week

And we must remember in a sellers market Bournemouth will release Keiffer when it suits THEM not US.. they hold all the cards unfortunately!!

Hardly. Most of the games I watch on tv these days.
Football in general has gone backwards for me
