I don’t agree with what Isreal are doing, nor do I believe in the State as a concept. However Hamas did I commit acts of astonishing brutality - and babies were murdered in barbaric means, in front of their parents. I know this to be true. I also know someone who lost 3 of his family that day - murdered. The response has been brutal by Israel and yes I want an immediate ceasefire. Like I said, I think Starmer has stayed quiet because of the anti semitism in the party with the previous leader and he will be worried it could cost him in the upcoming election.

But Starmer will never stand up to Nazi Israel as his Wife is Jewish and her nephews are in the IDF.

I've read some of the posts on here with great interest and would make the following points
I don't believe for one second that the original attack by Hammas was organised or allowed by the Israelis .
Also on a daily basis Hamas fires rockets at Israel. This has been going on for years. Ask yourself this if Ireland or Belgium were firing rockets at us everyday would we allow this.
During the second world war we firebombed Germany and dropped two atomic bomb s on Japan knowing that 100,000s of civilians would be killed. ( I don't make a judgement on those actions here but say that when your mere existence is threatened as ours was then and Israel's is permanently then extreme actions are likely to be taken.)
I studied the maps carefully at the top. The main reason for Israeli territorial expansion since it creation was the six day war in 1967. Yet before the Yom Kippur war 1973 the Israelis were willing to return large parts of Golan and all of the Sinai ( which they subsequently did) the Arabs chose to start a war instead and as usual in every war they have were well beaten.
I believe that the Israeli would sign a peace treaty tomorrow if most of their territorial integrity could be guarenteed and no more rockets from gaza.
Additionally following on from the war points above until a stable in warlike government can be installed in Gaza then there can be no peace and unlikely to be a two state solution as a Gaza govt intent on the destruction of Israel could never be legitimized by israel. Interestingly most Arab countries felt this way but apart from Iran most have softened their position . Their involvement here especially the Egyptians is integral to a long term solution.
Lastly i never believed that the violence in Ireland could be solved but look at that 25 years later, so perhaps with the severity of this situation a plan at least can be worked out.
