Liverpool 'anticipate selling' Phillips

Liverpool are anticipating the sale of Nat Phillips this summer after his successful loan stint at Cardiff City, according to reports.

The 27 year old has two years left of his contract, but reports from the Daily Mail say Liverpool are willing to sell Phillips and would be looking for around £2million.

Phillips was one of Cardiff City Stand our players last season.

Erol Bulut has already said that he would love to him back at Cardiff City.

Will Vincent Tan back Bulut if Bulut makes a move for Phillips?

Well if he's going to fully back him like he's said then he will be one of our first signings ?

Nat said himself he loved his time and would want to stay so let's see what happends with this, signing him would be a massive sign of intent

He stood out with some classy performances, but we leaked as many goals with McGuiness in the team in pretty much a half season split for both of them.

I'd be very happy if we signed him, but i'd prefer that type of money going into a winger or striker as a priority.

Your right Kyle,

Phillips is at the top of Buluts list.

Vincent Tan:

“What was clear under Erol’s management last season was that we were making progress and showing improvement. I believe he has laid some strong foundations on which he will build," said Tan upon the announcement of Bulut's deal.

“He will be fully backed next season and has our full support.”

2m would be an absolute steal, and regardless of wages (to a certain extent), he should be at the top of the list along with a striker, if the claims of "being backed" are to be believed.

Massive stand out player for us, and I feel he will have a list of clubs after him

I honestly thought he would go for more than that. I was thinking £4-5m

If he is for sale at £2m we should try and snap him up quickly.

Totally agree Paul, I was thinking the same figures as you so IMO £2m is a no brainer. Unless you are really lucky you don't get decent players for any less than that. :bluebird:

Fully agree at 2m an absolute steal but if that leaves us scratching around the bargain basement for a goalscorer i do have my reservations.

Unless of course we get 3m for mcguiness from wednesday

Well, all the right noises are coming from the player so who knows.

All depends on the budget. We have Goutas and Mc Guinness who are solid.

If it meant we would have less funds for someone that can put the ball in the back of the net then it’s a no from me.

Don’t forget we got that foreigner who was loaned straight back out to Tans Belgium club, but It’s a yes for neon Phillips

As stated above a few times, 2m in today's over inflated market is an absolute steal.

I would be very surprised if Bulut isn't backed to get Philips. That's IF he's one of his targets that is

We need two strikers, if one is out for months we'll be back where we started. We know we can't rely on our current lot... :banghead:

Certainly will enhance the team but lot can happen before get to stage of signing him.... 2m is good price and should be in our budget... but nothing is garaunteed in football so might not happen and not just financial reasons.

That could be down to many things though mate. Midfield not doing their jobs etc. I’d take him for 2m in a heartbeat.

Other championship clubs may offer more than the 2 million i am sure they all watched him play so snap him up early.

Totally agree! The capture of Nat Phillips would be excellent business and show intent :ayatollah:

More likely to offer higher wages than fee! Unless there's a bidding war which is unlikely ..just depends on how much bulut actually wants him and if tan backs him fully

At 65k a week I would have to say its a big no from me. If he was willing to drop to 15k then yes but there are teams in the championship that will pay 65k sadly we aren't 1 on them.

I do not think for one minute that he would be available for £2m.
Liverpool do not sell players on the cheap which for a 27 year old is way below what they will be asking :banghead:

Ned I'm not sure he's a realistic target for us considering how good he is there'll be other championship/premier clubs looking at him and pay his wage demands....

Would love him here but he's probably costing double the £2 million being bandied about on here & there's no way we should be paying £65,000 per week on anyone, we could get 3 players for that amount.

£2m would be a steal, we need to move quickly to get this done.

He’s a brilliant defender.

He also enjoyed living in the city and so did his girlfriend - it does matter if players’ families enjoy living in the area.
