Cardiff City player Double / Outstanding:

Sat Aug 10, 2024 5:27 pm

Joel Colwill for me I said last year he is even better than Rubin.

Joel is 20 yrs old very soon and for me good enough to start for Cardiff City

Why we sent him to League 2 Cheltenham m, shoukd if not gone or at least League 1.

Cheltenham Won 3-2 Joel Colwill double and the best player on the pitch today.

We’ve just signed Robertson and he’s younger.

Big but mistake by Bulut sending him out for the season

YET BULUT KEEPING S KIERON EVANS & TOM DAVIES????

Remember Sunderland’s team younger than us and they beat us 2 nil at home.

Bulut big mistake

Annis, we all know there is a huge difference between League Two and the Championship.

Well done to him today, this was the point of the loan. To get him playing regularly and doing well hopefully.

But it’s one game, I’ll see how he does over the season.

I think it was right to loan him out. He wouldn’t get in our team ahead of Ramsey, Robertson, his brother etc.

Would have done him no good playing academy football for another year.

Newport County lose 3-2 at Cheltenham after Colwill strikes twice and is man of the match.

Ned,

Joel at 20 yrs old you are either ready or your not???

We mess around so much with these players we f**k them up.

Why make Kieron Evans and Tom Davies first team squad players?

I will tell you know Joel is real quality, League 2 is below him.

Tell me where or what we’ve achieved with doing all this in the last 14 yrs?

He’s Championship all over this won’t improve him

Re: Cardiff City player Double / Outstanding:

I'm not sure he'd get in our team right now, especially after buying Robertson.

I do agree though I'd have liked him to have gone to a L1 side, think he could do well from the get go in L1.

Let's see how he does through the season.

Presumably we can recall in January if we want to?

Re: Cardiff City player Double / Outstanding:

At least we didn't send him to a Welsh league team. Let's see how he does in L2, it's only 1 game so far but if he keeps it up there's no reason he won't be in our first team next season.

Cheltenham fans on social media saying he was way better than anyone else on the pitch

What we have been doing for years has proved a total failure.

This lad is not a kid and is quality.
He deserves to play at a higher standard.

I agree Welsh league is lower than low.

Joel is a Championship player

Ned,

Joel is way way above their standard.

For the last 3 yrs down West Joel has been the main talk and many believed he should have last season made it with is.

It does not add up

Surprised that Ashford wasn't included in any way. Is he injured?

Its strange that Joel has gone out on loan if he's ready, maybe there's a few concerns?

My worry is for 14 yrs now we’ve got it all wrong on how we have been sending them out etc??

We keep saying we have all these players coming through, yet NONE Start for us???

I can't remember the last time we brought someone through that "made it"

We brought through Davies, Healey, Harris etc but none made it.

Was Ramsey the last?

Sending them to Welsh League is pointless. U21 is probably better experience.

Yes Ramsey is the last one that made it.

But every season we say we have 5,6,7 quality players that have come through??

Rubin Colwill has really be because he’s made nearly 100 Championship appearances

And Joel is way better

Totally agree. Unless they’re 16/17, if you’re sending them to Welsh League on loan forget it, they’ll never make the Championship. Unless they’re Mark Delaney….!

This lad is much better than anything we had in our squad today. What was the combined age of our midfield three today?
Non of them presented any threat to the opposition. Siopis must be making tea for Bulut and bacon sandwiches.
He is full of energy but provides no attacking options and he is closed down so easily.
Everything was so slow and predictable from midfield today.

We need youth, energy and creativity. King, Colwill and Conte need a chance.

Re: Cardiff City player Double / Outstanding:

Sat Aug 10, 2024 8:58 pm

They will all play against Bristol Rovers I’d imagine.

Hopefully they’ll put in such good performances that it’ll force Bulut to give them a start in the next game

Re: Cardiff City player Double / Outstanding:

We lost 4 youngsters in past year alone that should been promoted to 1st team squad at some point in future well good enough for man c Leeds ect how many more have we lost in similar way every year? No wonder we don't bring kids through
when we are left with average youngsters at best! But Agree that we fck it up with youngsters we keep the ones that are simply not good enough but let better ones go on loan...... let's hope near future the academy will keep the cream of our youngsters like the 4 mentioned.

I agree with you about Colwill although I do think he needs 6 months of first team football before he’s physically strong enough to be in a Championship, or even Div 1, first team.

I would hope we can recall him in January and, if so, by then he will be just about ready to play for us regularly. If there is no recall then that is a pretty big mistake.

From what I’ve seen of him he’s everything we’re lacking in midfield but he needs that extra strength that comes from playing regularly.

Let’s hope he comes back into a team that’s doing well and not desperate.

Disagree here this is a perfect loan for Joel. If he is as good as we hope he will tear up the league and his confidence and ability will improve. He will be better for it....good luck Joel

I really hope we take Joel back in January as I don’t want him to be another player we have ruined.

Joel is way above the rest we’ve been bringing through.

He will be 20 very soon and for me at that age he should be in our first team.

Allan,

Not all have made it yet?

We have the status for Category 1, just have to pay for better coaches and we get Category 1 Status, so it’s our own fault if we lose player's, that’s down to us.

But once again last season the media, the fans were raving about all our new youngsters aged 18,20, 21 etc and yet not one started yesterday??

Just to point out someone earlier mentioned Mark Harris not making it. 15 goals last season in Div 1 and scored yesterday against Norwich in Oxford’s 2-0 win. We may live to regret off loading in him if we continue firing blanks.
