No Colwill In Bellamys Squad

Really surprised and gutted for Rubin. Thought he might have been a Bellamy type player. Lack of minutes on the pitch I guess?

Lack of minutes.
Better options.

Colwill is the complete opposite of a Bellamy player from what read in his book.

Not sure if it is lack on minutes when you look at some of the minutes played by other players in the squad who are playing at a lower level than Rubin as well.

Not surprised, doesn’t deserve to be.

Time that people accepted he’s not as good as they seem to think he is.

Only one player in the squad (midfield and attack) are playing at a lower level than Colwill and that’s Sheehan and he’s playing regularly for Bolton and is more like an Ampadu type player.

All the forwards are playing at a higher or similar level to RC and quite frankly playing better.

My main point is a lack of minutes would not be the issue Others in squad have not played a game this season and they are in squad

This thread just proves what I say.

There’s always an excuse for Rubin Colwill.

Fair. Don’t link the two then.

Re: No Colwill In Bellamys Squad

In an international set up he is not talented enough to carry as bellamy is more interested in what you do when you don’t have the ball which is Rubin’s weakness.
We have a host of mobile attacking midfielders

But there’s no excuse in our talentless grafter squad

Not in Bellamy’s opinion

Inconsistency is killing him

Re: No Colwill In Bellamys Squad

Wed Aug 28, 2024 4:59 pm

If he was to get a solid run of games I think he would be a more consistent player.

We are killing him. As we have done with all of our young players.

Agreed 100%, sad that some of our fans seem to revel in us ruining a very talented player.

I'm sure we would all like him to be the next great world beater but sadly he isn't & you don't give people a run of games when they're not good enough. He shows flashes of what could be but like others have said his inconsistency is killing him, and us at times as he sure raises my blood pressure sometimes.

Hardly.

He’s capable of pieces of brilliance.

He doesn’t do it consistently enough.

If he did it consistently, he’s a £20 million player.
His potential is ridiculous.

Maybe if he had a run of games playing in the centre, we’d see some consistency..

Because he’s never given a run of games to do that.

Classic chicken and the egg isn’t it mate.

He’s not really a 6 or 7 out of 10 is he? When he’s good he’s a 9, when he’s bad he’s 4 or 5. We can’t afford to carry that 4 or 5.

He starts a game or two and quickly looks like he’s gonna be a 4 or 5 so he doesn’t get the consistent run he needs.

An independant source gave him 6.66 over all appearances for last season.

Also, Russell Martin, one of our recent nemesis disagrees with you after some excellent praise last night.

How does 6.66 compare with other players?

That would have been a fair few 4s or 5s in there I bet with the odd 8 or 9. Proves my point in a way.

Just went through his season, you're wrong again. 6's and 7's, very consistant actually. Disproves your opinion.

Our best was NG with 7.4. Colwill is 8th in a very tight clusture. You shouldnt be suprised, but he averaged significantly better than ever-present (and useless) Ryan Wintle.
