He has valid reasons to not want to respect the British army.
I do agree that he should probably differentiate between the army themselves and the respect shown to those that lost their lives during the wars though.

Come on mate you know that’s not going to happen in reality. If we all moved out of countries that we didn’t agree with what was going on we’d have nowhere to live.
