CCFC Protest March Jack's at home: Questions / Ideas??

Sat Dec 14, 2024 7:32 pm

Hi all

We are getting so much interest for the march. With plenty of ideas being presented via this board.

Jack has kindly agreed to manage all the ideas that are being proposed for the March.

We need YOUR HELP, we really need you to MARCH WITH US.

“ SATURDAY 18TH JANUARY / 11am FROM YHE ADMIRAL NAPIER CANTON “

We have a group of 10 of us Organising all this.

If you have any ideas that can make the March more effective Please PM 'Jack Baron'. Please do not message any ideas that are not March related yet. These can be considered separately. Our main priority is the March.

Unfortunately, we can't trawl the message board for individual messages with ideas hence us asking you to put them through Jack.

Please be creative. This is your chance to get involved from your armchair at this point until the day of the March.

Please note Jack will not be able to reply to your messages as he simply won't have the time to do so, but each idea will be considered.

Thanks in advance and thanks to Jack too.

Jonny excellent idea to get fans to put their ideas on here for the March / the day and any questions:

We will still as usual Support Our Team once in the ground and in past marches we have had brilliant atmospheres after Marches / Demonstrations.

CARDIFF CITY FIRST / THE REGIME OUT:

This is the perfect match with Sky and BBC Marching with us.

Plus if you chose the smaller games etc due to Crowds now as low as 10,000 actually attended the Demonstration would not be as effective.

THOSE ATTENDING AND BACKING IT / PLUS PUT YOUR IDEAS & QUESTIONS TO JACK / JONNY

I’ll be at the march. If any ideas pop into my mangled brain, I’ll share them.

I have a friend who works for Sky Sports and I’ve passed on some info to them.

It needs to be shared across social media and open to everyone.

Would suggest publishing a route of the March, ending outside the grandstand

Can Nash stop all protest material eg banners etc from entering the stadium?
Is a white sheet of cloth with Tan out written on it deemed offensive weapon?,
Could nash ban rainbow banners lgbt etc from entering the stadium or cardiff or welsh flags.
As we would like to have banners inside the stadium on the day infront of the cameras ,
Could fans be thrown out of the stadium for displaying tan out banners etc.
Do we have to hide said banners or should there be no problems legally does nash have the right to ban whatever he likes from the stadium

Just a few questions when we arrive at the stadium.

Monty, firstly, I appreciate your commitment to this cause…

Wayne Nash (nee the club) can only affect what is inside and (likely) on the footprint of the stadium…

Banners will be at the discretion of ‘the club’ and we have seen the reaction to some (even lighthearted ones) in recent times…

In the current climate, it would be a brave person to ‘ban’ LGBTQ banners or ‘Welsh’ flags; but others could/would be considered ‘offensive’ on a number of levels…

Sadly, with the current ‘fear factor’ amongst some club employees, it is likely any banners critical of the owner and/or by default the club, would be removed/confiscated…

With proper organising though, the real message will be seen by national news outside the stadium and the vocal message inside. Even ‘they’ can’t stop 15-20k loyal supporters doing that…! :ayatollah:

Simple idea.
Get a few heads together...buy a few white t shirts.
Wear a white t shirt under your top and on each put im sharpie
T A N G O or T A N O U T.
Stand next to each other with t shirts on display. Repeat x6k and it will look great. Failing that, just put the text all on one, and wear it.

When the game gets to 15 min,( 15 years of Tan) put ithe tshirts on over your clothes.

If stewards get angry, check them all on the pitch along with red clown noses. In fact, do that anyway.

I think we ought to keep the pressure on, a great date the jack game for the first march, maybe we should think of the next date as well and get the ball rolling on that? its just an idea, as the work involved must be immense. Or maybe some other way to protest.

SOME NICE IDEAS FROM CHAT GPT

Campaign Plan: “Reclaim Cardiff”

A structured, multi-phase campaign to protest Vincent Tan’s ownership of Cardiff City FC while uniting fans, raising awareness, and pushing for meaningful change.

Objective

To pressure Vincent Tan to either sell Cardiff City FC or address fans’ key grievances by demonstrating widespread dissatisfaction and organizing collective action.

Key Elements

1. Clear Message and Branding
• Campaign Name: “Reclaim Cardiff”
• Slogan: “Our Club, Our Identity, Our Future”
• Hashtag: #ReclaimCardiff

The campaign should focus on specific grievances (e.g., poor decision-making, lack of local representation, or perceived disrespect of fans) to keep the message clear and unified.

2. Phased Action Plan

Phase 1: Awareness and Mobilization
• Social Media Blitz:
• Launch the hashtag #ReclaimCardiff and encourage fans to share stories and opinions about the club’s current situation.
• Post infographics, videos, and testimonials to explain why fans are protesting.
• Partner with Cardiff City fan pages, podcasts, and forums to amplify the message.
• Media Outreach:
• Write open letters to local media (e.g., WalesOnline, BBC Wales) explaining the campaign.
• Arrange interviews with key fan spokespeople.
• Petition:
• Create an online petition calling for Vincent Tan to sell the club or meet specific demands. Share the petition widely online and offline.
• Engage Supporters’ Trust:
• Collaborate with Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust to lend credibility and ensure unity among fans.

Phase 2: Matchday Protests
• Pre-Match Demonstrations:
• Organize peaceful protests outside Cardiff City Stadium before key matches.
• Use banners, flags, and flyers with unified messaging (e.g., “Vincent Tan: Time to Go”).
• In-Stadium Protest Actions:
• Silent Protest: Fans remain silent for the first 10 minutes of a game to symbolize discontent.
• Coordinated Walkout: Fans leave their seats at an agreed time (e.g., 60th minute) to highlight dissatisfaction.
• Banners and Signs: Display messages like “Our City, Not Yours” or “Sell Our Club.”
• Boycott Matches:
• Encourage fans to boycott a specific high-profile home game. Empty stands send a powerful visual message.

Phase 3: Financial Pressure
• Merchandise Boycott:
• Call for fans to stop buying official Cardiff City merchandise until demands are met.
• Advertiser Pressure:
• Contact companies sponsoring the club, urging them to reconsider support until fan concerns are addressed.
• Highlight Revenue Dependence:
• Publicize how matchday and merchandise revenue rely heavily on fan support, emphasizing fans’ influence.

Phase 4: Broader Advocacy
• Community Alliances:
• Engage local politicians and influential figures to back the campaign.
• Highlight how Vincent Tan’s ownership impacts Cardiff as a community, not just a club.
• Engage the EFL and FA:
• File complaints or inquiries with football governing bodies if any governance concerns exist.
• Direct Appeals to Vincent Tan:
• Write an open letter to Vincent Tan signed by thousands of fans, calling for him to sell the club or meet fans’ demands.

Timeline
• Month 1: Launch social media campaign, petition, and media outreach.
• Month 2-3: Organize first matchday protests, including demonstrations and in-stadium actions.
• Month 4: Evaluate impact and escalate with boycotts and direct appeals if no progress is made.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Campaign Leaders: Coordinate actions, manage communication, and ensure unity.
• Media Team: Handle social media accounts, create content, and liaise with journalists.
• Matchday Organizers: Oversee logistics for protests and ensure peaceful demonstrations.
• Fan Ambassadors: Speak on behalf of the campaign in media or meetings.

Expected Challenges
• Fan Division: Address differing opinions by focusing on shared goals.
• Media Backlash: Ensure all protests are peaceful and legal to avoid negative portrayals.
• Sustaining Momentum: Regularly update fans on progress to maintain engagement.

Measures of Success
1. High participation in protests and social media campaigns.
2. Media coverage and public discourse about the campaign.
3. Concrete response or action from Vincent Tan (e.g., meeting with fan representatives or public commitment to change).

This plan balances visibility, unity, and pressure while maintaining the integrity of the fanbase. Would you like specific templates for letters, social media posts, or banners?

Jack is right guys. He is the one looking at and collating all the ideas on behalf of the protest committee.

Some great, insightful comments on here. Can you please message them or copy and paste them straight through to Jack.

Derby is an interesting example. Because they have protested.

You didn't mention Reading for some reason, who became famous for their tennis ball protest but still supported the team.

So stop being a Tan apologist and realise protest can be done while supporting the team.

Spot on Ned,

I personally would not give him the light of day.

He’s Tan through and through.

This Topic has been changed once again by a Tan fan.

It was suppose to be about ideas to help the March.

Support your Club once in the Stadium.
