Updated: Cardiff after Striker ?

Tue Jan 14, 2025 9:22 pm

Updated:

A bid of £500,000 was put in and both clubs are agreeing add ons. After 20 goals a further £500,000.
Danish Caps will trigger £500,000 and after 40 appearances for the Bluebirds would trigger £350,000.

Sell on clause of 25% of the sale.

Apparently for Danish striker Yousef Salech

Aged 22

Not had a Cap for Denmark yet.

100% Do not believe the so called bid Williams has said we’ve made, this is bullshit, Dalman has told him to.

UNT journalist Daniel Meisels, who covers Sirius.

"During last summer he suffered an injury that kept him out for at least a month, after that he didn't preform as well as before and has not been the same.”
.
“He apparently played with some pain, too. But he had a very good first season, you must say. He had some interest around him during the summer, but Sirius decided to keep him hoping he would do as well as his first season.”

Decent goalscoring record to be fair.

I doubt we're paying this much though.

I pray this happens. What a difference he could make.
A 6’5” centre forward who scores goals and, presumably, can head the ball. :bluebird: :bluebird:

Give him a chance before we judge him, no wonder players won't join if we write them off before they've even signed.

It's more the Genn Williams saying we are signing him. A lot on social media. Highly doubt it's for the sums being suggested but it's a striker. And God don't we need one.

I see the story comes from Glen Williams.
But as always, we can rely on fails online for top class reporting.

22 year old, signed for Brondby in 2001. Some foresight by their transfer team

Taken from the article:
Salech was a prolific goalscorer with Hellerup IK in his native Denmark throughout youth football before sealing a move to Brondby in 2001. He went on loan in the second tier in Denmark with HB Koge and scored 15 in 24 appearances, but netted just once in 12 outings on loan at Belgian Pro League side Beveren last term.

As always mistakes by Wales Online.

But the story didn't come from them - Danish journalists reported it before they did.

Terrible quality on their spelling and grammar.

If there is any truth in this and we sign the guy what's the chances of Tan simply loaning him out to Kortrijk as has done before.

On twitter, Henry saye has said it’s a done deal unless anyone comes in with a late bid.

He heard about it lunchtime which maybe why there was speculation about a player being at the ground last night.

Hopefully be in the squad for the scum game

Keeping my fingers crossed, various articles suggest almost “done”.

e.g. ……Cardiff City agree €3.9m deal for January signing – Medical and announcement on the way :bluebird:

Me too mate
That example is pretty much as positive as we could get apart from an official announcement I reckon. :bluescarf:

Looks a better option than what we are used to .
We had become the donkey sanctuary
with farmer dido last season and kanga this season.
Lets hope who ever has scouted this guy is not the one who scouted the previous,
otherwise we are up the creek

Typical City tactic!
Put it out there that it’s a done deal and medical booked then hope that another club comes in last minute and gazumps us.

Possible risk but it's not the club putting it out there

Purely Board tactics to try and stop the protest.' Hey Cardiff fans look! We have listened and now we have bought an unproven striker again'

Looks like another gamble. Is he going to hit the ground running as I understand he hasn't kicked a ball in anger since last November?

Furthermore, do we have capacity for loan deals? I mean, surely the likes of Chelsea, Man City etc with their bloated squads can lend us one of their youth strikers for a few months!?

He's very highly rated and I think it's worth taking the chance. Riza suggested he would be ready to have minutes on Saturday.

As for PL loans, a lot of them don't happen until the end of the window when PL clubs have made their signings and sorted out their squads.
