Burnley haven't conceded a goal in their last twelve league games

It’s pay on the night for both sets of fans.

Cardiff City XI: Horvath; Rinomhota, Ng, Goutas, Bagan, O'Dowda; Chambers, Mannsverk, Robertson; Ashford, Salech.

Subs: Turner, Fish, Lawlor, Ramsey, Colwill, El Ghazi, Willock, Robinson, Davies.

NEW UPDATE:

Omer Riza:

Alves could be in contention for Burnley game as he has recovered from his latest injury.

"Ollie Tanner won't be ready and could be a long way off, Dave Turnbull won't be ready.”

"They are both still a fair way off.”

TEAM NEWS:

Ollie Tanner out for the season??

Omer Riza:

“Jak Alnwick had a bad tear in his hamstring. That will rule him out probably until the end of the season. It’s a shame for him and a shame for us because he’s been excellent.”

Turnbul March to get back.

"Jesper has had his scans. He had his stitches, he had eight stitches in his shin," Riza said of the defender. "Hopefully they will come out on Monday, then the healing process of that, however long that takes, it's in an awkward position.

"Yakou [Meite] is back training, he has trained with the squad, fully, he was injured with his thigh, but he is back training now and back in contention to be selected.

Club Connections

Craig Bellamy famously had a couple of spells with us as a player. He went on to be Burnley’s assistant manager for two seasons, before taking the manager’s job with Wales.

Tom Heaton, Steven Thompson and Alan Lee all played for both teams in recent years.

Rival Players

Connor Roberts had a long spell at Swansea before signing for Burnley.

Josh Brownhill previously played for Bristol City for four years.

The Opposition's Manager

Scott Parker is the Burnley manager, having taken over last summer after Vincent Kompany left to take the Bayern Munich job.

He has a very good record at getting promoted from this league. He has achieved that with both Fulham and Bournemouth.

His last job was with Club Brugge, where he lasted just three months.

As a player, he made over 400 league appearances and earned 18 caps for England.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Zian Flemming is likely to lead the line for them, he has seven league goals this season.

Marcus Edwards signed in January from Sporting Lisbon. He's already scored in the league.

Head To Head

We have a poor recent record against Burnley, losing four out of the last five.

They won the return fixture 5-0 back in August.

Goutas only had a one match ban - so he can play. Riza said before the Villa game that Alves was out injured ( knee injury ).

Very optimistic about this game, if we defend like we did against Villa and have more of an attacking threat I do believe and honestly think we could win this one, come on bluebirds onwards and upwards.

Next two games we could be dragged back near the bottom three why it's important to win games not draws I personally think we will lose both Burnley and Sunderland away one win away all season

I’ve gone for a draw purely because of their defensive record

Hopefully we can force some mistakes and get the win.

We need wins now to stay in the league it's as simple as that .Bit of belief and confidence in ourselves as a team and we can beat anyone .
Just don't sit back and show to much respect. I liked the 442 in a defensive block but we also got to win games now burnley or who ever it is

It's a myth that we HAVE to win games to stay up.

We are not in the bottom three. We are five points clear of relegation.

A draw would be a great result on Tuesday, against a team who haven't conceded a goal in 12 league games.

Boss Omer Riza's team were eliminated from the FA Cup when they lost 2-0 on Friday against Premier League club Aston Villa, a game in which they also failed to create a big chance.

The Bluebirds are only five points above 22nd-placed Luton Town, who occupy the third and final relegation spot, but the Hatters have played a game more than the Welsh team.

Cardiff have proven difficult to beat in the past two months given they have drawn six, won four and lost only two of their last 12 Championship outings, and they have picked up more points (8) in their last six than eight of the bottom 12.

The hosts' form at home has been strong, with the club undefeated in their six most recent fixtures at the Cardiff City Stadium in the second tier, achieving victory in three of their past four.

Meanwhile, the visitors were ruthless in front of goal against Sheffield Wednesday, finding the back of the net four times from an xG total of just 1.46, whereas their opponents failed to convert any of their three big chances.

Burnley succumbed to a 3-0 defeat against Preston North End on Saturday in the FA Cup fifth round, but it should be noted that the loss was just the second time they conceded any goals in their past 15 games.

Scott Parker's side are only five points from second-placed Sheffield United, who occupy the final automatic promotion spot, but boast the advantage of having a game in hand.

Parker will be confident his team can take all three points on Tuesday considering they beat Cardiff 5-0 on August 17, and the victory was their fourth win in five matches against the Bluebirds.

Burnley are unbeaten in their last 21 Championship games – winning 12 – and have kept 12 consecutive clean sheets.

The Clarets' showings away from home have also been excellent given they have triumphed in six and drawn four of their past 10 on the road, preventing their opponents from scoring on nine occasions in that period.

Burnley switch their focus back to their league campaign against Cardiff City tomorrow night after their weekend disappointment in the FA Cup.

Scott Parker’s men will be determined to issue a reaction after being knocked out of the cup at the fifth round stage with a 3-0 defeat to Preston North End.

While they were in cup action, Sheffield United beat QPR to extend their lead to Burnley in third back to five points.

With 12 games remaining, the Clarets now have one sole focus as they go all out for automatic promotion.

Still unbeaten in their last 21 league games, and yet to concede in 12 straight outings, Burnley will need to continue that form with a much-needed three points in the Welsh capital.

Both sides have some injury concerns to contend with heading into Tuesday night’s encounter.

That’s an attacking line up from the midfield on. But with Ng, Rino or Bagan we also have defenders who like to push forward.
I’ve gone for a draw. Even spread on the poll so far. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Sadly some of the fans won't know what such a good thing they've got with Riza until it's gone.

First chance of the game falls to Anthony. After a big challenge from Goutas and semi-clearance from Bagan it falls to the winger, whose tame shot is saved
