I can just start posting aboust stuff like...atmosphere in the ground...and...why we sit a bit too deep sometimes..
Firstly a MASSIVE thanks to this board.
Truely me and the lads in the band have all said without the CCF (AAMB as was
) we'd have sold barely a few hundred.
Seriously.
What I've learned is this.
City have about 5,000 fanatics. Hardcore. Some of whom travel away every week and who will buy the record.
In the weeks leading up to 'pre-order' pretty much all those people (who are City to their bones) bought it...
After that it was really hard to get people to buy it...which is absolutely fair enough...and I think pretty much how we know it is now.
The 'new' fans though will take us forward. I know they weren't there in Preston when we lost 6-0 in 1990 (or was it 91?) but that's life.
I think they have to be encouraged to stay.
That's my view of it.
When we make the Premiership we can get 35,000 for every home game and the hospitality will be full...okay it'll mean 28,000 people who weren't there 20 years ago BUT it'll mean we got to Old Trafford and Anfield...and I'd rather be going there than Rochdale or Orient...if I'm honest.
This is where stuff like the Fred Keenor Statue comes into it.
These 'new' fans (with their kids) will see Fred, ask about him and learn to love Cardiff City.
I think you are right about keeping singing going in areas of the ground.
I think that's essential to also getting new fans in too.
Atmosphere.
Keep battling to get that going.
It will take time in the Stadium but we'll get there...look at the Jacks and Leicester last year.
We have to remember NP could sometimes seem a cold, wet, empty quiet place against Lincoln on a Tuesday night.
It wasn't always Leeds in the Cup...same way as it cant always be Leicester in the P/O's at CCS...it's worth remembering that.
Bet the place is bouncing for the Jacks next week.
Finally, I'd like to personally thank you all again on here. Annis and Carl have been there every step of the way.
Leeds away was straight into my top 5 aways ever. What a day and night and atmosphere..
Did you all see the picture in the program with the shoes...Adidas should use that in their marketing..
I've ALWAYS said South Wales is an Adidas part of the world...'tidy trianies butt'..as we say in the Valleys...love it.
I'd also like to mention on here Julian, Barrie and Jamie at the club who have been superb...they all want the best for the club and are City to the core.
Wayne especially (Wayne who does the half-time) gave us the Cup and deserves a special mention too...what a top top guy.
Ali as well. That guy helped sell about a thousand on his own.
Personally, I've got to go back to work now but I'll be popping onto the board.
It's a brilliant board. Full of life and argument which is what you want.
Even Annis and I don't agree on supporting Wales in the rugby!! haha...(I do, he doesn't!!
)
But that's what makes it superb...and the away trips.
I'll be coming to the Ninian before home games when I'm back to have that famous breakfast.
Thanks again...over and out from The Stand.
Jonny.
