Who's the nastiest, most horrible player you've seen play

Fri Jan 15, 2010 4:52 pm

Whbo is it then? For me, it's a toss up between Doug Rougvie and Kevin Muscat. Rougvie was an animal who could actually play a bit but was just an out and out hooligan. He laid out John Fashanu on the pitch once when he was playing for Chelsea v Wimbledon. He didn't even get a yellow card for it, although some would say, including me, that no-one who ever did that should be sent off anyway.

Muscat was an animal, but a sly one, who wasn't particularly good either. A horrible b*stard

I cringe every time I see him on Soccer AM. It makes me laugh when he explained why he's called Razor when he was on the show. He said it was because "I cut players in half" when, in fact, he stole his nickname from a boxer called "Razor" Ruddock.

Tony Coton.

He was banned from Birmingham Town Centre for fighting with doormen alongside Killer Kilcline. Gent of a guy but apparently an animal.

Kevin Muscat by a country mile. Ruthlessly dirty and doesn't even show remorse for it. The dirtiest single tackle I've seen was Nelson Vivas's challenge on his compatriot rival Juan Cobian when Arsenal played Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Vivas tried to break Cobian's leg because they were both competing for the Argentinian squad for the 1998 World Cup. Needless to say his plot worked as Cobian was out injured for the squad selection!

I thought Vinny Jones was dirty also as was Greame Souness

God, forgot about Souness. He punched a Romanian player and broke the bloke's jaw back in about 1981 in the European cup if I remember rightly

NB, the more I think of Souness..... well the thing is he was a fine player, whereas, Jones and Muscat lacked the quality ( so you could excuse them a little).

Without doubt Dougie Rougvie, also Mark Dennis was no saint back in the day

Yeah, Souness was one of the best midfielders Britain's ever produced. Ruthless as f**k though and, probably the closest thing there's ever been since is Roy Keane

Did'nt Haaland have that coming though, if I remember rightly he stood over Keane giving him stick when he had an awful injury.

I went to Arsenal v Tottenham in 1986 when Roberts hit Charlie Nicholas so hard, Nicholas ended up 3 rows back in the stand
