Chairman demands an apology from the Express

Sun Jan 17, 2010 10:30 am

Will he be demanding one from the Sunday Star as well cos theres an article in there too saying much the same thing?

Re: Chairman demands an apology from the Express

You do realise that the Sunday Express and the Sunday Star are published by the same people?

Re: Chairman demands an apology from the Express

We would be naive not to believe misquotations do happen and whilst Peter has denied saying what is quoted, he hasn't mentioned what he actually did say. So, if you didn't say it Peter, what did you say? Must have been along similar lines, if not then rightly so should the paper be held to account over it, but it doesn't change the feeling amongst supporters that he is an incompetent liar.

No I wasn't aware of that, not that it matters. These quotes have been attributed to him by both papers. He has also demanded apologies off other madia outlets for different quotes i.e Echo regarding the winding up order and TNOW regarding the tax bill still outstanding. No apologies have been forthcoming, funny that innit

Of course it matters.

In your opening post, you asked if the Chairman would also be demanding an apology from the Star as it contains the same story as the Express.

Ridsdale has already demanded a retraction from the publishers of both newspapers, as they are one and the same.

Not at all. You've just made a bit of a fool of yourself with your opening post.

The two articles were even penned by the same journalist.

You didn't spot that either, I presume.

TLG, could you confirm what he DID say? Peter's lack of a response as to what he DID say is noticeable by its absence.

Couldn't care less chum. Not particularily bothered whether you think I have made a fool of myself or not. You should be more concerned with the way our club is being run not nit picking at other peoples posts.

Not everone is an expert on newspaper ownership I certainly didn't know they were sister papers. IHA has acknowleged his oversight which certainly doesn't offer enough evidence to classify him as a fool.

Maybe he should stay on the other board Tony...? Please everyone take that as it was intended, as a joke!

No need for it though TLG, well said Tony.

Sorry Tony, forgot to add my apologies over the numpty thing, you were quite right, I didn't want to start a new message digging it up.

No, I can't confirm what he did say. I wasn't present when he was being questioned. Were you?

No problems Salad mate. Believe it or not I'm not a million miles away from your point of view and I certainly have the same asperations for our club.

I'm greatly concerned by the way our club is being run. That's why I do the work I do for the Supporters' Trust.

However, that doesn't mean your opening post wasn't daft. It was.

I said he'd made himself look a bit of a fool.

Are you sure you weren't in his pocket again TLG?!

That's exactly the point though TLG, he hasn't stated what he did say and until proven otherwise, we can only assume what he is quoted as saying he did say as it has been proven before that articles he has dismissed have been proven to be entirely correct. is comments could have been sensationalised or maybe even taken out of context, but its hard to believe these quotes were taken out of thin air.

Come on TLG, lighten up. Firstly you were being disingenuous by stating was I there, so don't get all affronted if I jest back. Cetainly no need to refer to me or anyone in such a way, only Mrs Salad calls me that, usually in bed.

What's that supposed to mean, you sniping c**t?

No offence, TLG, but the main difference between here and CCMB as far as I can tell is that personal abuse isn't tolerated here.

So the guy didn't know the publisher was the same for the two papers. Big deal.

Ridsdale has made numerous claims of being misquoted, facts incorrect et al. Local media, now national media. To be misquoted once is unfortunate, numerous times? Eh...

Really? So saladthedragon can accuse me of being in Ridsdale's pocket, but I should desist from calling him a sniping c**t? Is that the way things work around here?

As for abuse not being tolerated here, the truth is that abuse directed towards Annis isn't tolerated here, but I've had more abuse on this board since it's been set up than I've had in six months on the other board. This place is the home of double standards.

I only opened up this post with a tongue in cheek joke. TLG analyzed it, dissected it,slapped me on the wrist for being a naughty boy and its all deteriorated into mayhem

TLG, then don't post mate. I always like reading your posts, but for you to be disingenuous to me by quoting sarcastically "I wasn't present when he was being questioned. Were you?" then get affronted when I jest back is ridiculous. Don't take yourself so serious whilst if you think any message board entitles you to call people such names you're very much mistaken.

Sniping C**t is hell of a name for a poster mind. I might change mine to that very name  Annis Owain this is a formal request can I change from ihatealiens to sniping c**t

OK you clasified him as a bit of a fool (although what difference that makes is beyond me), but I still think that's OTT for a simple oversight.
