CITY, NOW FOR THE BIGGEST Away Support youve ever been Away With Cardiff, (Forget Wembley).
Mine was about 1980 away in the Welsh Cup Final 1st leg to Jack Land, We took about 10,000, We had behind the goal, virtually all down the side seats, 400 hundred behind the goal where their Fans are and hundreds on their end.
In the return leg at Ninian Park they brought 2,000, even though they had just been promoted to the Old First Division.
The crowds were over 20,000 at each game.

Apart from Wembley 4000 to Hereford and Reading. I was at Somerton Park when we lost 1-0 in front of 16000. I was only 11 at the time so cant really remember how many CCFC were there.

There was a few at Scunthorpe, 93 was it?
I drove up from London so got there a bit late, dozens of extremely pissed lads outside as I remember. Took my next door neighbour with me, a rangers fan from Glasgow. He thought we were headcases and not because of my weaving around traffic on the motorway at a 100mph+. He'd been on the piss the night before so had to stop in a few service stations on the way, he couldn't believe how many women came up to me asking how I was! To be honest neither could I, it was one of those days where a few of the ladies I had pleasured in the past had had some sort of day trip oop north
Ah those were the days my friends...Time for a ditty for the yun un's

The day of the "removable" turnstyles? One of the funniest things I've ever seen and then meeting an old schol mate who'ed joined the police and found himself in among the brawling, myself and a mate chatting to our school friend while bedlam ensued all around. Strange but true, christ I could write a book on the old days

he used to walk around the pitch before the game in those days got about 15 yards from the corner flag when the first shower of coins hit him
thought better of it after that

Biggest away support for the City was over 20,000 for a fourth round F.A. cup tie.

Brentford i think in 98, where we had most of the ground. i think it was dec 28th 98

In the cup, Liverpool away (Wembley aside, of course).
In the league, Reading away a couple of years back. 3,200 for a league game and more than Manure took to Stoke on the same day

Scunthorpe 93. Had the home end, the locals weren't happy. Great day!
Arsenal (Highbury),Liverpool and Wrexham in 93 we took big numbers.
I also went to the Newport County game on Easter monday 83, I was only 13 and went on the football special train, thought I was going to be pushed on the railway track because of the crowd surge. We were in the home end first, but got transferred to the away end, where it was packed to the rafters, we had a couple of goals disallowed and lost to a John Aldridge goal, we had the last laugh though as we went up and they finished fourth
Also a special mention to Hereford in the early 90's, cant remember the exact year, but they opened the gates and let loads of City in for nothing, must have been about 4K of us in that away end, could have been another Hillsborough.

Portsmouth was mad when the clock started to be taken down and the Eric Steele save. ( can't remember the exact year )
The away end was rammed and it was a cold journey home on the football special after some of the windows were smashed ( not by us I might add)

Swansea away Fa cup 91. Filled behind the goal and most of the right hand side of the ground it seemed like!!
Scunthorpe away 92/93 records say around 5-5,500 there but it felt like hell of a lot more to a 17 year old.
a few cup games ie Reading 96 ish, Arsenal a couple of years ago. the local derbies Bristol City, Hereford etc.

we played hereford the year we got promoted in the welsh cup pitch invasion at the end fights breaking out all over the pitch as the cup got presented on the pitch.it was wrexham i remember you playing in the final at the vetch, every thug you got must have travelled that night and they think its dodgy these days great night though picking you off

It wasn't the biggest away support but Walsall away when I am sure we had more fans there than they did back in 2003 seemed like the biggest away support we had. Other than that, not really sure.
