Last night at the Trust Open meeting I made a proposal on behalf of one of our members who could not make the meeting.
We propose the following.
If the club get promoted instead of returning season ticket monies to fans why not give the equivilant cash value in club shares?( providing the shares were valued reasonibly at about 25p a share)
This would mean the club having more money in the bank and the fans who take up the idea the chance to become shareholders in our club.
I would definately do it...the money is gone now and I am guaranteed entry to all league games next season...I would happily accept shares instead of cash....It would help the club and it would give the fans a small bit of ownership in the club.

sounds like a good idea to me, i would do it....as long as p.r wouldnt get a penny for himself!!!

It would have to be an optional thing because not all supporters would do this
Tue Feb 02, 2010 6:41 pm
Yes very good idea, but I would have to think about it, being a student money is very tight, and £300 back in my account would be lovely and much needed. But then i would love to be a shareholder
I will have to think about it, but great idea

Yes as I said on the night Corky I am 100% behind it

It's definately a good idea, but would the board effectively want to dilute their shareholdings?
For that reason alone I wouldn't see it happening

Cant see it happening with the current board, excepting Borley of course, but yes I'd deffo be up for it
Tue Feb 02, 2010 8:49 pm
Absolutely.
Tue Feb 02, 2010 8:50 pm
Makes total sense.
Even if the shares were valued at top end 41p (total club value £17m) with everyone taking up the option (£3m) in theory 17.5% of the club would reside with fan ownership (20% is currently owned by PMG)
If you could bring all that voting power under the proxy of the Trust, then for the first time ever us the fans would have a very influencial voice.

One option could be to make a direct offer to buy Ridsdale's shareholding and rid him from the club.
Tue Feb 02, 2010 8:54 pm
I'm up for that

Count me in ...... it seems better than offering the money to the club to invest in players!
Would I then be able to nominate the Trust to be like a spokesperson for those shares?
Tue Feb 02, 2010 8:55 pm
count me in

Is it possible to add this idea to the agenda at the forthcoming EGM?
Tue Feb 02, 2010 9:19 pm
Arent we getting a bit carried away here?
Promotion is a massive ask.
Tue Feb 02, 2010 9:26 pm
150% behind that idea
whoops went to riddlers school of counting
