I'll never forget the day my eldest son was born. The midwife handed him to me and my first words were-Hi Charlie I'm your dad and your a CCFC fan. We beat Hartlepool 2-0 yesterday.
The following week we beat the gypos 1-0 at the wretch (Haworth). I listened to the game on r wales and had a massive bollicking off the mrs for running around the house when the final whistle went!
Prior to being a dad i enjoyed the beer far too much.
I am now looking forward to the birth of my 4th child- i just hope that he'll have a club to support.

When one of my best mates died in June 2008 of cancer, truly has changed my outlook on life and i now make the most of it with the people i care about the most.
I watched him gradually getting worse and as he had osteosarcoma he eventually had to have his leg amputated, and unfortunately the cancer spread to his lungs and no more could be done.

Trowbridge is a part of Rumney mate, i can assure you. Just as Caerau is part of Ely, that got broke down into 2. Trowbridge is still officially Hendre rd, Trowbridge, Rumney, Cardiff.

meeting my mrs, in my late teens early twenties i have been a right f*cking idiot even though i come from a good family , i have been in court for numerous g b h related charges, i got caught up badly in the clubbing culture taking drugs and all the rest of the shit that went with it, even tho a talented sportsman i started missing alot of games at the time i was playing welsh league footy and getting paid, i then stopped playing footy altogether. Thankfully i have never been unemployed and have always been a exceptional salesman, in 2004 i met my mrs who had a daughter i narrowly escaped jail for a section 18 and she warned me in no uncertain terms she wouldnt tolerate the drug taking and all the other crap i was into, i woke up turned my life round progressed to management level in work, ive nearly paid my mortgage off go on hols 4 times a year and occupy all my time now playing various sports instead of acting the wanker, All this i owe to my mrs, fairplay she keeps me in line, im still prone to doing stupid things and i still got a bit of a temper but hey im only human im just thankful i havent ended up like some of my mates who are struggling to come to terms with the aftermath of the clubbing days, Im really happy with life right now!

The two main things are...
1. When my nextdoor neighbour and good friend committed suicide. It made me reflect on life a lot and start appreciating things and people a lot more. It also helped me to not take life so seriously. It also, strangely, made me a more caring individual.
2. Meeting my missus. I wasn't really that successful with women before. Mainly because I was more distracted by drinking and football. She's turned me into a more wholesome and well rounded individual yet still gives me the freedom to enjoy the things that make me myself, like going to Cardiff games, nights out with the guys, drinking, playing football etc.
Oh and one more...
3. My first wank. Life would never be the same again!

I'm with Annis. The birth of my daughter.
Actually, I tell a lie, it was something that happened a couple of months before she was born. Before she came along, I was, like many 24 year olds, into a lot of things. Things that weren't particularly clever, or legal. And I was bit of a b*stard for scarpping with the worlds worst temper. I wouldn't care about the odds, 1 on 1, two, three, four on one, it didn't matter, I'd steam in and fight.
Then, one night, I was out in town with a mate and he started having a proper tear up with one lad who was with a group of mates. It was even, punch for punch, then this lads mate came in and dropped my mate from behind, I saw red and charged in and hammered him. As the rest of his mates came diving in I grabbed one and took him to the ground, when I looked up a boot came in and caught me clean in the face. I was on the floor and they were stamping f**k out of my face. After the old bill came in and sorted things out I was a mess. My clothes were saturated in my own blood, my nose was smashed, as was my cheekbone.
When I got home I looked in the mirror and cried. Not because the damage done to me, but the thought that it could've turned out a lot worse and I would never had seen my daughter grow up.
It scared the hell out of me.
Now, I've still got the quick temper, but I just let it simmer inside of me and think of my daughter before doing anything that could ruin her future.

2 thinkgs have changed my outlook on life
Like alot of you having my daughters helped me grow up and changed my life but the main turning point was my brother having a brain haemorrhage when he was 22, just finished his degree and about to start a job as a teacher. 1 year back and forth to hospital whilst he was in a coma and then watching him adapt to his new life for the last 16 years, although now in a wheelchair and having to have 24 hour care never moaning about his life and thankfull for everyday. Often makes me feel bad when I come home and moan about my day in work!!! I do try to act and think like him more and be thankful for what ive got rather than what I havent got.
