They are a horrible team but you have to give them credit they have done well to stay up there and hold their own against some good teams on not a massive budget.

Gutted for him and for Wales, but show some respect and not post a youtube video of the horror tackle.

Re: Rambo

Sat Feb 27, 2010 8:26 pm

For all those who think it was merely mistimed.

Third time in five years it's happened to an Arsenal player. All started by teams known for clogging, knowing they can't compete with the quality of football Arsenal play getting stuck in, starting and maintaining the media line that Arsenal can't compete when teams get physical.

The teams who have injured Arsenal players, there's zero doubt managers have pumped their players up and told them to get stuck in.

So it's yet another injury.

Look at the clip again. Ramsey slides into a 50/50 tackle - nothing wrong there. Shawcross instead runs from distance into the tackle, makes no attempt to slide in, instead kicks through the tackle, which is what caused the serious injury.

Did he intend to break Rambo's leg? Of course not. He certainly intended Rambo to know he was there. He knew full well if he didn't kick through the ball he was kicking through the leg.

If that's the style of football people want to see, well, I cry for football.

Re: Rambo

Sat Feb 27, 2010 8:29 pm

It looks like Shawcross has more control of the ball tho. Im just gutted for Rambo and welsh football.

The point is, Shawcross doesn't slide in, even when he sees Rambo go to ground for the tackle. He stays upright, kicking through - it;s obvious when you do that, you don't get the ball you're kicking through the leg.

Reckless tackle with little regard to the consequences - he may well be legitimately upset by the outcome, but it was entirely caused by Shawcross.

Re: Rambo

Sat Feb 27, 2010 8:38 pm

Yeah i can see where your coming from when you watch it you can see he does kick through.

Cheers mate, that was my point! he knew if he missed he was going to to do some damage. I agree he didnt mean to collapse a potentially world class player's career but he did!

F.A.O. The Ramsey family from Caerphilly. I wish Aaron a swift recovery and my thoughts are with him and yourselves.

Best Regards.
