Put our names forward to go on the Trust, I wouldnt have a hell in cats chance as I am too out spoken, and believe in Action, not pen writing all the time.
Maybe Carl ?
Maybe Gwyn ?

I'd suggest you all go for it, you may be surprised.

I think it would be a good idea, much better than splitting the fans with another supporters group.
I'm sure you'll get votes, and along with the other board members it should put the trust in a strong position
Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:53 pm
I'd be happy for that. The Trust was set-up entirely for this sort of thing (i.e. democracy, fairness, etc)
Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:53 pm
The more people who stand the better. Nothing against the current members.
Ours is obviously smaller, and getting people to stand is hard work, this causes things to go a bit stale from time to time, although over the course of time we have managed to be succesful through togetherness and hard work.
Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:54 pm
do it, why not? you wont know unless you go for it.
Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:54 pm
Im a trust member youd get my vote
Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:56 pm
Good idea if you all put yourselves up although to be sure of having a good chance you need as many like minded fans to join as possible before the election. This could be a win win situation with many more members of the trust and it having as wide a base of views as possible. It would then be truly representative of all fans.

Power to the people
I am not well enough known to raise enough votes

TBH it is the only the Trust is going to be saved.
TLG has his qualities which shouldn't be overlooked, but listening to other opinion is not one of them. I'm concerned he has no real opposition on the TB and it needs shaking up.
One thing Annis I know for sure, the Trust Board won't be wasting its time with diversity days whilst failing in its core aim (i.e. standing up for us the fans) if you and the lads were on there.

I've been thinking about this all afternoon, the only way to get real power in the fanbase is for everyone to unite. We need all the strong personalities to be at the head. I am still disappointed the trust did not vote to go on the march but instead of me loosing faith with the trust I believe all 2000 who marched should join the trust. We should then urge all the supporters club members to join. I believe this number would be about 3000. The known and not so well know leaders would come to the fore, they could form the representation of the trust which in turn would decide action and put to the membership for vote. I fully believe the majority want action, and this way we would get it.
So, to answer the initial question, absolutely yes........

I think the three of you should stand and unite the fans. As supporters we need the trust to fight for us, wheather it be with the pen or with action. Reading different posts there seem to be alot of fans unhappy with the trusts lack of action, which wouldnt happen if you was there. In fact I think the membership would go up.

The Trust is a broad church and that reflects the fan base. Only one way to find out and that is to stand. This shouldn't be about egos, but a clear and workable agenda for the Trust (and increasing membership) and those it represents.

I think the TRUST reflects the membership......... if you put you're name forward and aren't elected by the membership then thats democracy.
To be honest ....the best reps. of the fans are those that are anonymous......I dont want a leader.......I want someone who represents me!

I have to admit my faith in the trust is gone and I won't be a member again.

In my opinion there are more snipers on this board than the afghan foothills. talk about dividing the fans.

Thats one of the most over used cliches here......if you disagree with someone you are a sniper.
You will never have a few hundred fans agreeing......... particularly on a MB.....we are all know alls and legends in our own mind.
