I think it would be a fantastic statement if everyone walks if they say no to rebrand reverse. Just one question and if they say no we stay in red all 40 get up and go. But it needs everyone there to do it not just 50%. That would represent my viewpoint perfectly.

They will not say no but it will be interesting to see how they avoid it.

Knocking their stadium down at the promise of a new one certainly didn't help.

If you ask Wimbledon fans, they blame Sam not the newer owners.

I think the club will be well surprised at the numbers of people who don't renew for reasons other than the apparent main one. :ayatollah:

I agree that some fans wont renew due to team performances/manager/prices etc but I think if they did the unthinkable and actually gave the fans what they want then I think season ticket sales would increase massively

I think your right and the ones who'd be renewing for the return of the blue and the badge will be worth more than those relinquishing their tickets because of performance. It might not be numerically but it seems to be about identity than how shit were doing for most anyway so who knows

I don't think the numbers will increase that dramatically if we go back to Blue, those would have been the ones we were going to lies next season, if we don't.

There will be a loss with everything else that's been going on and there's been so much of that.

Whatever happens on who comes and who goes we will still be a divided club and I never thought I would see that in my lifetime.

Well done Cardiff City :old:

Cardiff City have today released a statement saying that the club will engage in a fan consultation meeting on January 8.

The statement reads.

'Cardiff recognises that one of the key assets the club has is its fan base. In recognition of their importance, Vincent Tan has asked Chairman Mehmet Dalman and CEO Ken Choo to invite a cross section of supporters and stakeholders for a consultive meeting, including but not exclusive to the Supporters Club and Supporters Trust.'

The statement confirms that the meeting has been scheduled for January 8 and that invites had now gone.

'The purpose of the consultation meeting is to give supporters an opportunity to openly share their views on a number of topics in relation to the club.'

Following on from all the grievances aired, the boycott and so on, maybe this will be a positive way forward where a line can be drawn under some issues of note.

Jon, are you saying that the group who led the way from the beginning, Bluebirds Unite, won't be represented? TEZA :bluescarf:

I believe Sian is going, and I have now had an invite from Wayne Nash myself, so there will be at least 2 of us from the commitee even if BU themselves weren't invited as a group ;)

Don't know why your going to be fair, much more deserving fans. Maybe they need a photographer. :ayatollah:

Maybe

I don't know what makes a deserving fan? All I know is I've been against this rebrand from the start and attended every meeting and march that has taken place, am a member of Bluebirds Unite committee, haven't missed a home match of any kind in over 150 games and have a Cardiff City facebook page with over 170,000 followers.

Does that make me any more deserving than anyone else? I doubt it, I only asked for a place and was given it, not my decision to make

Vincent Tan's meeting with Cardiff City fans offers hope of a brighter Bluebirds future

As Vincent Tan invites supporters to share their views with club chiefs at a crunch meeting on Thursday, football correspondent Terry Phillips, one of those asked to attend, explains why there remains hope of a brighter future at Cardiff City.

A new year, a new start for Vincent Tan?

It is fair to say 2014 will go down as one of the most turbulent in Bluebirds history as Premier League implosion on the pitch was accompanied by controversy and infighting off it.

Indeed, many Cardiff fans have never felt this low. Their love for a great club has never been so sorely tested.

But there remains hope. The Malaysian billionaire who made the Bluebirds’ Premier League dream become reality still has the power to unite Cardiff City once again and heal the wounds of a tortuous period.

If Tan, a man who has thrown his financial muscle behind the club, could find a way for a return to the club’s traditional blue kit and badge, it is still possible to repair his relationship with many fans who have turned on him over the club’s rebranding.

The Malaysian businessman has faced much criticism in recent weeks, but he deserves credit for making the first move to open the door to a brighter future by asking chairman Mehmet Dalman and chief executive Ken Choo to meet a cross-section of supporters to a meeting on Thursday.
Leading members of Cardiff City Supporters Club and the Supporters Trust will attend, but the club make it clear invitations will cover a far wider spectrum of the Bluebirds’ faithful.

Crucially, Tan appears ready to genuinely listen to the fans. He wants to hear their views, he wants the toxic atmosphere to end.

Annis, how do I get an invite?

Re: " CARDIFF CITY FOOTBALL CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT/STATEMENT "

Tue Jan 06, 2015 1:23 am

Been thinking about this meeting on Thursday. I'm sure these points will be made by some of the more eloquent among our fans but in a nutshell this is what must be put over to Tan via his representatives.

1. Thank him for his enormous investment in our Club.

2. Acknowledge the fact that as the owner of the Club we understand how he may feel that he is entitled to make major decisions about the Club but as fans who truly love our Club we feel that we have the right to uphold the history and the traditions of the Club and hope that he understands that.

3. Make sure he understands that he was poorly advised when he claims that most fans were accepting of the rebrand. That was never the case. Challenge him for evidence of that.

4. Appreciate the fact he believes that red is a lucky colour but in reality there is no such thing as a lucky colour and if he needs confirmation of this he just has to look at our current position in the league table and the distance between us and the top two teams and the fact that while wearing red our one and only season in the Premier League was a complete disaster both on and off the field.

5. Reinforce the message that his actions have totally alienated the fan base to the point where morale is rock bottom and fans who have supported the Club since they were children are leaving the Club in droves and there is now a negative atmosphere at the ground which is having a knock-on effect on the players. Supporting Cardiff City has stopped being a pleasure.

6. The end result of his changes means that he is endangering his own investment as the Club is in a downward spiral with less revenue from season ticket sales and virtually no meaningful money from sales of merchandise.

7. If he acknowledges that his experiment has been unsuccessful and he is prepared to reinstate our blue kit and old badge we will promise to do everything in our powers to get behind the Club in every way that we can, restoring pride, recreating the atmosphere that Cardiff City has always been famous for as well as renewing season tickets and buying blue merchandise.

8. If he is not prepared to meet our demands we will do everything in our powers to drive him from our football Club. In the event of this there are likely to be no winners but he will be almost certain to make a huge financial loss on his investment as the Club becomes more and more fractured and loses its core support.

9. Change us back to blue, work together and we will go back to the Premier League to stay. :bluescarf:

I have supported the Club over 40 years and have also stuck my beliefs which is to support the Club I love and because of that I could not simply walk away. I am also more than capable of giving an articulate and well thought input with regards to the rebrand however I did not receive any invite after all I am just a 'ordinary' fan and Season Ticket Holder like the majority who have never been consulted by the Club
