I think it might well have been the trip you referred to because I am pretty sure that the West Brom fan was Colin and he definitely got arrested for running on the pitch and there was a photo of him in the Echo on the Monday mad as a box of frogs and a mad mad trip
That rings the bell im sure i remember him in the echo i bets its the same guy
