ADMITTING DEFEAT FOR FRAIZER CAMPBELL

I am told that Steve Bruce has admitted defeat in the race to sign Fraizer Campbell.

Bruce has told sources up North that 'Cardiff have blown Hull out of the water!'

He is referring to the personal terms that we are offering Fraizer Campbell, I understand the transfer fee is in the region of £500k.

Apparently Bruce is turning his attention to DJ Campbell now.

Hopefully we will see the deal wrapped up tomorrow if everything is worked out.

Heard similar today. We've been after FC for 4 years so obviously with the Steve Bruce connection we were always going to be in for him. Not surprised we can't compete wage wise. We've got to take a calculated gamble. Cardiff are going up, you can take the bigger risk.

That was in The Sun and The Mirror. Absolute tosh. He only cost Sunderland £6m (if that because injury meant he never played enough games or scored enough goals to trigger the clauses) and he's got 6 months left on his deal. We thought £1m tops.

Gutted to miss out on him, again, but glad we're not paying OTT wages. Start paying wages like that and you've got to match it for the Korens and Chesters, etc. Then we'll end up in the same crap as before.
