I've looked at our last 17 games from each of the previous 5 seasons and here is the breakdown:-
2007/08 W5 D6 L6 Pts 21
2008/09 W6 D5 L6 Pts 23
2009/10 W8 D4 L5 Pts 28
2010/11 W8 D5 L4 Pts 29
2011/12 W6 D7 L4 Pts 25
Looking at these stats the one improvement has been in the number of games lost at the back end of the season. The average return from our last 17 games is 25 points so if we have an "average" end to the season then we will end up with 88 points which should be enough for automatic promotion, however this is no average season. If we can continue the trend where we lose less and less games towards the end of the season then i'm sure we will get 90+ points and go up as champions.

We haven't lost an away league match since the 6th of November against Charlton

That's a very good stat. If we performed to that standard wed get 84 points enough to get promoted in 4 of the last 5 seasons. If we meet last seasons standard well get 88 and that will be plenty
(Note this is for 2nd place) which is all that matters to me.

Another win for the stats, win our games at home and we've cruised it by a country mile.

After 31 games last season we had only lost the same number of games as this season 6, but we have turned those drawn games which of most i suspect we were leading and could not hold onto into wins.
