Why are they giving red scarfs away to start with?

I agree he may very well have run the idea past him,but if you believe Borley,and I do,it appears the original idea came from Julian.

I dont believe a word borley says anymore tbh, yes hes done good things at the club but the guy says things on twitter then goes back on them days later i've seen it all before this season and last season, eitherway who knows what the outcome of this scarf thing will bring all i know is fans will either lap it up or take a blue one to the same game. I've seen mad threads on both boards from things such as everyone take a freebie scarf then toss it on the pitch before kick off and another thread saying wave them around showing support for the malaysians for what they have done so far. Its up to that person i suppose we are all diffent in are thinking and ways. As long as we are all there supporting the team thats the main thing come kick off time

What I believe has happened after making ph calls tonight is that City have been stranded with thousands of scarves, unlike the shirts they have not sold, they are no good for next season, so Tan has gone to Jules for advice on what to do with them, stops the club being embarrassed that they never sold and at the same time turns the stadium and Cardiff Red. There is only one Boss Tan.

I dont think there was a divide tbh, i think its just how people deal with it, i dont know one person loving red i know loads of people having to put up with it but deal with it by looking past the trees more than others, thats modern football, this scarf thing well it will either go one way or the other if its not ditched by tuesday

hey there are several clubs that are a laughing stock at moment for several reasons! and rather us than them, can change everything except name wont be allowed by fl as for reasons stated before?

You can't even trust what you're getting for when you pay anymore so when its free its got to be dodgy.

I think it's a way for the club to make it seem like everyone is buying in to this whole red thing. Holding up scarfs is something football fans have always done to demonstrate their passion, and what better way for the club to by into this than giving everyone red scarfs and telling us to hold them up? The thing that annoys me is people from the outside will look at it as "they're holding up they're red scarfs, sellouts" when in reality people are just doing it for a free season ticket.

to be honest its nice, they don't have to give away anything, and so what if tan was a sea of red to help atmosphere and drive on the players to promotion? so what its his club, he has the money

I reckon one because Tan is obsessed with Red and has no respect at all for our club or its identity and he wants to finally now crush the Blue once and for all. Yes there is a pretend 3rd kit in Blue next season, but it will prob never be worn. Only last week All the Accademy kids had to get rid of anything to do with Blue and were all handed Red.
Also yes your right the scarves have hardly sold, they will soon become old hat with his latest new badge for next season, so he may as well give them away now and get the fans wearing Red all over our City and Wales. He is def not daft and does not care what we think or feel.

Bollocks survival , no good reason why investment couldn't have been made without rebrand . Our existing catchment area is huge enough

Its been well documented that media and other football fans claim Cardiff fans have 'sold they're souls' for success by changing to red. This was nosence as many fans like myself will support the team despite being red and never choose to adopt the colour - it was one mans choice that the fans had no control over and regardless of Cardiff fans views he decided to do it anyway!

This is just another way for Tan to slowly win fans over and get rid of the blue altogether. Its the fans who decide to take this new approach and take a red scalf to games for the reward at the end that will have 'sold they're souls'.

No scalf for me, we are Bluebirds!! Lets all take our blue scalves and say 'no thanks' when offered a red one!
