If so Malky u naughty boy regarding Cornelius , even though Lim and Tan should get some of the blame as they were your bosses and over saw it all and the whole truth will come out, not just Tan spin.

By the way Sir Alex Ferguson, I'm sure in his reign made many mistakes even 25 years later, I wonder what mistakes he made in his earlier years Hmm

But thank you Malky for getting us to the Premier League  :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

£250m is nonsense Annis but when it comes to Sir Alex well he pissed away £m's on Jaun Sebastian Veron, Eric Djemba Djemba, Massimo Taibi, Dimitar Berbatov and Dong Fangzhou just to name a few.

:ole:

Cheers Gary, I know you know all the facts

What about the deal Tan did with Malaysia and the Far East putting out our Games live?

Not sure what VT got for last season but I bet it was peanuts compared to the PL TV rights. All games are shown live wherever in the world the revenues go into one pot but if every club got £250m that would make the TV rights worth more than £5 billion and surely they are not.

Thinking about Alex Ferguson I wonder what catergory Zaha fits into. Hmmm

Is any Premier League club allowed to sell their matches to other countries ?

Or is it just Sky who has purchased the rights as well as BT Sport so only they can sell the games ?

A rare post from me...

I wish all the Malky baiting and snide comment makers would f**k off!! Lets make a simple comparison....By some fans (including me) Malky was our best manager since Eddie May and in his short tiem at the club attained the same god like status....Yet I have never heard one City Fan (who was there during Eddie's time) pass comment or slate hime for poor transfers (and there were some belive me) - so why the f**k are we making such a big deal - Cornelius was a dud for the premiership and Malky made a mistake and Brayford and Odemwinge werent great either, but for fucks sake look at the success of the signings that matter - Mutch, Noone, Catherine, Medel and Caulker - where would we be without them....

Malky's gone and yes I'm sad, but I'm right behind Ole and the team, but I cant sit back and have the muppets/red brigade and Tan lovers slate the man who in my eyes achieved more in 2 short years than any other manager in my years of watching the club...

LEAVE MALKY ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Premier league I would imagine sell the rights and share the loot with the performers Carl.

Sky & BT only hold the UK rights. The Premier League has sold the rights to host broadcasters in other countires for £1bn and this money is shared equally amongst the 20 clubs.

Did you say One Billion ? One Billion GBP ........ That would make sense. Of course yes it would be shared with the performing artists or there wouldn't be a Premier leaugue !

Re: Is it True?

Fri Feb 14, 2014 5:51 pm

Its about £5.5billion for worldwide rights including the UK.

That is for three seasons starting with this season.

Excluding running costs it will be split between the 20 clubs.

Therefore the £60million this year is INCLUSIVE of worldwide rights.

If the figures are correct we may have put 15% of it aside for Cornelius

Correct, over a 3 year contract I believe.

That tells you how the PL sells it's TV rights - Collective Basis tells you everything you need to know. No room whatsoever for VT stand alone deals.

So in reality and back to basics .... Malkys cock up on the Danish flop wasn't very much financially in comparison !

Who got Cardiff to the Premier league again ? Oh that's right Malky Mackay !!!

Fergie fucked up loads of times Annis you are spot on mate.

Bebe was signed having seen him play on a video. Allegedly Bebe had played in the South American homeless World Cup! A rumour which was later denied, however the agent of the player was slightly corrupt from what utd fans said.

Erik Nevland. Signed from Norway, never made it, except to score a goal for Fulham in the season Roy Hodgson kept them up against all odds.

Richie Wellens, quite a talented younger player who never really got the chance, and got shipped out.

Gerard Pique, sold to Barcelona, went on to win the Champions league twice was it?

Diego Forlan, was he not good enough for the premiership? Or was he not played correctly? Either way went on to do a very very good job in Spain.

Sold Staam due to a disagreement, stupid decision

Signed a South American talented kid, he ended up crashing into a child in Manchester in his Escolade and didn't get a chance after, not really on topic but still.... Don't remember his name.

List is endless. Plenty of managers f**k up with signings. Malky screwed up big time with 1 signing. But also did what no other manager could. Got us promoted. Which isn't all down to being backed financially, plenty of teams tried that and failed.

Cheers, This is what I am trying to say, yes Malky has messed up on Cornelius, but this is becoming a Witch hunt by Tan/Lim and Tans followers.

Malky was a great City manager in my eyes and should of been given at least this season

You could have added Veron to that list but 38 trophies including 13 Premier league titles in 26 years says it all about the man.

I'm with Annis. Malky deserved longer. He messed up once. Now he is a scapegoat. In 20 years I will still remember Malky and think back positively of him.

What about Kenny Dalglish signing Carrol for 35 mill. That was a big f**k up tbf

I still wish Ole all the best. Looking back won't help us, but blaming an innocent man for other peoples mistakes won't do us any favours either.

Malky takes a lot of credit for getting us up
but so does tan he bank rolled it which is another thing people are happy to forget at the time they where a great partnership but unfortunatly when things go wrong it get messy
only one winner and thats TAN when this happens

so when people keep banging on about malky being a fantastic manager etc he did it with TAN and would not have done it without him
I aint a malky lover or hatter
I also aint aTan lover or hater but if you want to argue facts put both sides over

Exactly, Fergie earned a bit of respite because of what he had achieved and what he was continuing to achieve.

All we were achieving under Malky was a depressing slide down the table.

Re: Is it True?

Fri Feb 14, 2014 6:52 pm

Lol some of you comparing flops at Man Utd. They can afford to take chances as their revenue is so huge. What percentage of their revenue is 28m on Veron compared to ours on Acorn. As for Berba bring a flop.....he was top goalscorer in prem in his 2nd season.

Yes Malky had the money behind him, but how many teams have had the cash behind them only to finish in the play offs.

Look at Leicester. Finally in a decent position. Malky did it within 2 years. Inheriting pretty much nothing (10 players)

People say Malky was a depressing slide down the table, but 7 games in with OGS and we have dropped even further.

Re: Is it True?

Fri Feb 14, 2014 7:05 pm

Malky was the football expert and hence made the call on the players, if he or any other manager went to Lim and said he's the man for us then what should he do... Lim and Malky should've gone, MM record over his last thirty games was... Not the best.

Easy to read link about TV-rights.

http://www.tsmplug.com/richlist/premier-league-tv-money-deals-2014-15/

If Tan got a £250 mill deal for Malaysia it would be about 10% of the world wide revenues to Premier League (excl. domestic). Not bad if it is true, mind it must be divided between all clubs.

Re: Is it True?

Fri Feb 14, 2014 7:43 pm

As well known I travel to asia offten,
Been to thailand Malaysia and Vietnam.
And every premier team game is on in the bars.
They have all the games on diffrent tv's in the sports bars and in the smaller ines the bigger games.
So I would say its bollocks and if true then it would be the same for all clubs.
They may pay 250m to broadcast premier games but not just to 1 club.

Re: Is it True?

Fri Feb 14, 2014 7:48 pm

This is what the Daily Mail says, how true this is I don't know.

Overseas deals for 2013-16 will surge past £2bn in value, which, when added to domestic deals for live rights (£3bn from Sky and BT), Match of the Day highlights (£178m from the BBC) and near-live rights and internet rights (still to be sold), means the League will earn a mouthwatering £5.5bn from broadcasting during that three-season period.

That money, less the League's running costs, will be shared out among the 20 clubs who make up the top tier of English football.
And when the new deals kick in next (now this) season, even the club who end up bottom of the Premier League in 2014 will receive a £60m payout from the TV money, while the champions will pocket £100m.
