You've just made that up. You can't even back it up.

If it is true I will be upset. He's already proven himself to be very average for us, his stock is at its highest after his World Cup so we should just cash in now. If we go up he still won't be able to handle the tempo of the Premier League which will see some more poor performances from him.

People are creaming all over him after two good games in the WC yet forget that he was very poor for us last season. As to making him captain? He can't even speak English, would be a stupid move. He doesn't suit the English game so let him move on.

Good god - please no.

He cannot wait to get away from the club. His commitment and contribution last season were questionable at best. He was overweight and looked like he'd given up after Christmas.

If he can't motivate himself to play in the Premier League what on earth will he be like in Championship?

It may well be "to force the hand" fella, but to use the term b****ks is totally wrong, as it now appears the club HAVE made that offer and ThomasC was correct in his OP ;)

A bit of humble pie would be nice right now!

Even watching Medel play Kimbo and Mats on FIFA, you can tell they don't get on. Medel isolates himself from the team and it was clear from day one. (Look at our celebrations against Manchester City, he has to celebrate with fans because the other players didn't communicate with him).

Get rid and get a bit of money back. He's not cut out for the English game, especially the Championship

Is it wrong to want a player to stay because he is kinda cool? :D :D It makes no business sense probably, and Medel would be far more suited/successful in Italian football, but having him playing for us is the only thing I can thank Tan for. Have a classy player to watch week in, week out :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Clubs do it all the time. Offer a player a new deal with a rise in pay as an incentive for them to stay.
Nothing new in that.

Yer I know but he's got to stay anyway

He told the media he wanted out about a second after relegation was confirmed, before a club even came in for him.
Was poor and out of shape after malky went. David Marshall should be captain, give it to someone whos earnt it

I think you're possibly wrong on that front. Medel has massive leadership qualities. I watch all bar one home and away last season and wbat I observed was Medel constantly rallying his team mates on. Dropping back and helping out but always, always encouraging.

I think he'd make a good Captain and what a player to hang on to.

Well I think it's crazy that a captaincy would be given to a man who can't hold a decent conversation with the players he is supposed to be leading. He has a basic grasp, nothing more. Certainly not enough to be a captain of that team.

It is? Evidence of this? He can hold a basic conversation, nothing more. Unless he's been learning English all summer... But I think he's been busy at some football tournament.

Medel playing in a 2 man defenceive midfield with Dikgacoi
we can play 3-2-2-3 score goals for fun.

Medel will be made captain.

A pay rise when we get promoted back to the premier league.

Lower get out clause next summer if we fail .

Well Daman states strongly its £10 mill or No deal, I do believe we are def trying now to offer Medel a better deal as well.

I doubt very much he would accept the captaincy if he stayed.

It will be a great achievement to keep him although should we be trying as it is common knowledge he wants to go?
