We met the day that the Malaysian reporter was at the CCS, I came out of reception to wish you luck in the new role.
I have been reading with bitter disappointment about your actions to remove Gwyn Jones book “The rise and fall of the valley rams” the reason for which seems unclear.
There seems to mixed reports/rumors about the reason why,
Some saying you see it as glorifying hooliganism
Some saying that it over enhances CCFC valley support
Along with these comments I have heard that you wish to disassociate the club away from the valleys and its supporters.
Can I ask have you read the book through? Or just flicked across a few lines?.
As a valley Boy (Pontypridd) I would, if found to be true, take great offence to the above rumor, as without the valleys this (your employer) club would only have half the fans it does now, I believe you to be an intelligent man, ask someone to run off a report on postcodes from the fan base see for yourself
For the book to be classed as glorifying hooliganism well that’s pathetic. You wouldn’t know if you hadn’t read it, but through Gwyn and another city fan Corkey’s hard work while the rams were running, they managed to unite fans into a group not having a flotilla of vehicles traveling to away games, with SW police approval or at least understanding.
I hope you can clear up the rumors, and see sense to this foolishness and reinstate the book with immediate effect.
Other rumors/reports say you’re unhappy with the atmosphere at the stadium, areas of standing also singing/chanting,
can you confirm your stance on any of the above?
I look forward to the reply

I fairness, Annis in the thread where I asked for it you got the address spot-on.
I've just sent my e-mail.
Hi Gethin,
Firstly may I congratulate you in attaining your new post as Cardiff City FC Chief Executive and welcome you and wish you the best of luck in your time in this important role.
It is with a concern though that I hear that you have decided to remove Gwyn Jones' book from the club shop, branding it as a hooligan title.
As you have been a Cardiff City supporter for many years I am suprised to hear this, as anyone with any nknowledge of the clubs recent history would realise that the RAMS were set up to try to stop City fans causing trouble at away games by travelling on unoffical unreguated transport 'under the radar' of the police. The RAMS gave the valleys fans in particular an organised method of transport with full co-operation with the police to get the hundreds and sometimes thousands of fans from the Valleys to away games with very little in terms of trouble at all.
People like Gwyn and Corky worked extremely hard to make this happen, and this support on the times I travelled with them was largely well behaved and gave fantastic backing to the side.
Gwyn's story is honest and humorous and having read the book I would say that it doesn't glorify hooliganism at all, just gives a forum for some great characters to tell their stories - all about supporting this fine club.
Obviously with your background being the running of a rugby club many fans feel that you may be out of touch with the club. Unfortunately this decision provides fuel for that claim. Please at least meet with Gwyn to explain the decision face to face with him. or better still revoke the ban.
Once again, all the best for the coming months and years, there is a lot to do. The club shop is one thing that needs improving - the selection of CCFc gear is awful and given that half of the shops space is being given to the Blues, it seems to have even less to offer than the old 'corner shop' at np -don't make it worse by getting rid of one of the few things in there worth buying !
Best Regards,
Tim Wegener

Plain and Obvious to see that this is a prepared statement on behalf of gethin as none of my questions have been answered, seeing you or he has made no attempt to answer them I can only surmises they are correct, and I now have concerns who is running our club as much as I did when PR was in charge. Saying that at least the aforementioned has a clue about football, and its fans
Sad day in football when a person from another sport try’s to run it as his old sport, driving out the passionate fan and replacing them with lager swigging arse on the seat stereotypical flask carrying, prawn sarni eating collage buddies
One can but hope the guy see’s sense or is thrown out before he does to much damage.
I wont say your gratefully
Dear Andrew
The reply sent to you is a statement by the club on this matter, so is in fact the reply we are sending to supporters raising their concerns.
The statement clearly outlines our position, which remains the case with the books not being restocked since February based on business decisions. The statement also affirms our commitment to the valleys, as is the case for our value of all fans, regardless of location or any other factor.
Efforts being made on all fronts to see the business continue on a stable footing, while engaging with the wider community and businesses. For example, our website currently leads with our I’LL BE THERE campaign, a promotion we have been setting up for the last few months in partnership with The Valleys Heart & Soul campaign. Some may wish you to think this a kneejerk reaction to books not being stocked, which simply isn’t the case along with a number of other projected and false opinions concerning individuals or the club as a whole.
At no time have any comments been made regarding the atmosphere at the stadium, or a new position on standing or singing at the stadium. As you stated, they are unsubstantiated rumours, with no basis in fact.
I hope that this clears some of your concerns.
