Why SOME Celtic Fans hate the troops

why bring the city in2 it. we are talking about glasgow celtic fans and their anti army/ British views. im ccfc through and through proud to be welsh and british. it does piss me off tho when some people try to create a ccfc/celtic/republican alliance. personally i dont want anything to do with the celtis religious bigots

Dont you think that loyalist are bigots, I lived in Andersonstown in Belfast and whitnessed 1st hand how the squaddies treated locals. Having said all that I know of 3 serving soldiers that are Celtic FC fans.

I brought up the City because this thread was quickly stereotyping ALL Celtic fans as IRA types.

So in loyalism can you condone the Shankill Butchers, the Dublin Bombings, the Monaghan bombings, bloody sunday. All controlled by the then British government and sanctioned by a certain army major who also used his position to import guns into NI from S.Africa.

I just dont understand why someone from Wales would latch onto this loyalism melarky, the history of it is purely evil mate, you should look into it more.

What I find so amusing is that they have had peace in Northern Ireland since January of 1998 and happily getting on with their lives, the new generation have not experienced "the troubles" and rightly so. People have peace but the only one it seems to bother is someone from MAESTEG.

Because they dont like the fact that the loyalist movement is and was run by the British state, in all honestly I really dont think they know what loyalism is. Its just a cool thing to do to impress and suck up to the likes of Chelsea & co, oh and the Swansea loyals of course.

Those that have slagged off rangers, the british army, the royal family the protestant people of northern ireland are just narrow minded bitter fools as those that slag off the republicans. Point is its their problem so why get involved, there is scum on both sides but do you know what the best part is.......... The likes of former PIRA, INLA, UDA, UVF, etc all work together now as drug lords, gun running, bank robberies, you name a high rating crime in the North and you'll find them boys behind it and best of buddies too.

Loyalism & Republicanism is a thing of the past mate and the only ones that get involved now are just are those that cant get a piece of the cake.

I never said you have condoned loyalist violence. I said the loyalist types on here continually fail to condemn loyalist violence - even the extreme attacks carried out on normal members of the public whose only crime is to be a catholic. But they're quite happy to condemn republican violence. That's what I found hypocritical.
