Lordninian I vaguely remember Peter (I think that was is christian name) Kilcoyne a massive Chelsea fan. The much very still much missed late Johnny Harries was very friendly with him, and always spoke highly of him. Think Kilcoyne was into the punk scene, though my memories are not crystal clear on this.

Lordninian I have been wracking the old grey matter today, Kilcoyne was very much at the forefront of both the punk and the casual look. I remember him supporting Chelsea and being in the old enclosure with them at Ninian Park in either 77 or 78, he had a few verbals off some Cardiff fans, before and after the game, but he was more than capable of holding is own. Loads of Cardiff respected him too.
My dear old mate JH (RIP)very much favoured the wedge and polar necked look around this time, but alas he was unable to influence me, I preffered a pair of docs, bondage trousers and a donkey jacket. In nearly 40 yrs of friendship JH influenced me on many many things, but my dress sense alas Lordninian remains pretty bland to this day.
Lord N, if you have not recognised me yet the only two clues I will give you are 1 I am based in Porth and 2 Dai Arsenal is still asking me about the JOE 90 head/model type thing you and JH were arranging to have made for him by your mate. I have passed Dai`s queries onto Mr Jones.

Great thread for all the Rhondda boys, good days.Lived in Maerdy for a while as a kid, been relocated to Treorchy for many years now,but know most of the guys mentioned, the 2 vans that travelled to swansea were real bad lads,no one in britain would have fancied bumping into them!!! Kilcoyne was a great guy,got to know him well,he used to pop up Treorchy regularly, was a punk, chelsea hoolie, and then a casual, sad end for him.I used to work for the stone masons and fixed his headstone in maerdy cemetry.Funny how all the rough old pubs in the rhondda always used to have a large city following as regulars, the maerdy, the galed in ystrad, the baglan in treherbet, the prince in treorchy, rough diamonds i think!!!!

Lordninian I believe Mr Jones, is trying to arrange a pre-season souree down the bay (17-7-10), myself and Mr Traczyk are hoping to attend, although Lordninian I would hardly class myself as a "terrace dandy" Porth`s a waste of time these days, not a decent pub down here, not like it used to be I hardly go out for a pint locally. Though we do get together about once every four months, I will let you know when we do this next. Until the 17th Lordninian, I look forward to reminising with you then, I `ll get on to Mr T tomorrow. Dai Clockend maybe attending on the 17th (fingers crossed) his eccentricities will add to the afternoons enjoyment.
Joe 90 can be discussed in great detail lol.
