1-2 city looking forward to this 1 after having to miss the Birmingham game. Hopefully a decent side out with 1 or 2 youth. And plenty of noise from Away end :ayatollah:

But David Marshall, Peter Whittingham, Joe Ralls and Anthony Pilkington could all get a rest, with Simon Moore, Stuart O'Keefe, Aron Gunnarsson and Craig Noone coming in.

Defender Sean Morrison is also set for his first competitive start since undergoing ankle surgery in May, while Kenneth Zohore could feature in attack.

Trollope must show which previous City managers have failed to do and thats show respect to the opposition and to the travelling City fans by selecting the strongest team possible against Rovers

Pretty much the first team squad, I like it.

Also Gunnarrson playing, doesn't seem to be going anywhere at the moment.

Really pleased to see we're taking things seriously. Good chance for Zohore to make his claim for a starting place on Sunday.

Interesting about Gunnarsson starting. Obviously just paper talk about him leaving.

Both Derby and Norwich still in this competition. Surely if he is going he would be cup tied.
Don't think he is going myself.

Cardiff City begin their quest for cup glory as they face Bristol Rovers in the first round of the EFL Cup.

The Bluebirds drew with on the opening day of the league season but showed plenty of promising signs and will be looking to carry that into tonight's match.

Incase anyone is interested, Jazz Richards has now done the ayatollah TWICE! How about we leave him alone on it for a while? :)

We're dominating possession but doing very little with it. Possession stats at the moment:

Bristol Rovers - 35%
Cardiff City - 65%

Fantastic goal-line clearance from Sean Morrison to stop a certain goal from Bristol Rovers.

Agree with you. Slow, lethargic and pedestrian. Things can only improve cant they?
