A forum for all things Cardiff City

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will most certainly shuffle his pack once more as the Rs travel to Cardiff City. Alex Smithies should claim his place back between the sticks with Jake Bidwell, Steven Caulker and Grant Hall all set to re-join the defence.
Aside from playing with Jordan Cousins, Karl Henry will fight with him to pair Massimo Luongo in the middle as Tjaronn Chery looks set to join Seb Polter in attack. Olamide Shodipo will hope to continue wide, but both he and Ben Gladwin will have one eye on Yeni Ngbakoto, who impressed against Swindon.

Cardiff City started lively and Fred and Pilkington working well together, Immers and John going forward, City for the first 20 mins on top.

Were not grabing the game by the scruff of the neck and trying to win it, we seem like were too frightened of losing. I supose its our first home game so we are going to be a bit tentative. Hope we can step it up a notch in the next half. I have a feeling Fred is going to put one away today!

Couple of balls through from pelts and john but pilks offside. whittingham cross but fred missed from tight angle. The game needs a goal.

City the much better team. Hopefully can get a goal in the second half. Just need better delivery for Fred and Pilkington.

No shots on target yet

Totally in control of the first half without making their keeper make a save! Slightly frustrating. Well organised and you can see that they are getting used to the new system gradually.

Possession football by both sides we need goal so hopefully will change it a bit 2nd half.

It's difficult to be positive when we all really crave champagne football, but and this is a big but, if the defence and goalkeeper are kept then we are not going to lose many games. It's frustrating seeing the solid spine of the team being in place but the inbalance is that we are extremely weak going forward.
We won't lose the midfield battle often this season but the loss of Fabio has dealt a crucial blow to our attackig ambition in this formation. We really need an arrogant Taarabt like player that would draw several players to him and skip past them. The pace in the middle is pedestrian and so easy to defend against.

Cardiff have played the nicer stuff and Jazz Richards has made some really promising runs down the right but there hasn’t been a clear cut chance for either side.

QPR Have their first shot and looking the better team.
