There are a few people on this board who are like sheep, only go with the majority and afraid to offer a different opinion. I do a cracking job in my work.....50% discount for me!!??

That's exactly what I said and got called a "f*cking tool" for it. Funny old world isn't it.

  I do love how the evidence is there yet you change what was said and in what context?

I called you a tool because you said that the armed forces don't ONLY like football. Get it right will you? Cheers.

the club have done a great scheme for the emergency services as a one off promotion they may or may not do the same for the forces but they dont have to

After thinking about it, I'm going to say no. But wouldn't begrudge them a discount.

My brother has been in the army for 10 years. And he has a good wage. In fact, a very good wage and no he's not an officer. He spends most of his days in a workshop. He does go out on exercise etc aswell. No soldier fights for their country every day of their career. Most soldiers are only in a warzone for a short period in comparison to the length of their service.

I think when they come back from tour, every club should do what we did. Make them the guests of honour and parade them around the pitch.

But other than that I don't think we need to give them discount. I do believe however they should get discounts for larger items. Such as 10% off new cars, houses etc. I also think they should get a payrise whilst they are deployed in a warzone and get it tax free.

But the priority should be getting them decent kit. The amount of gear my brother bought before going to Iraq was awful. The army should have provided.

without a doubt.

Maybe the same discount as students and OAPS but no more.

I have maximum respect for the armed forces too as I knew someone who got killed out in Afghanistan at the start and my uncle and 2 grandfathers were all part of the RAF.

Well I guess because the prices set by Cardiff for OAPS and Students are for people who mainly do not work and earn a living.

I am thinking about joining the RAF or Navy but the mrs would go mental.

It is worth taking note that an extra 2 years after school and getting some A-levels allows you to get better jobs in the armed forces. No point joining until you are at least 19-20 in my eyes.

When you leave the Forces, you get issued with a record of service book (Mine's a red plastic Army one).

You also get monthly pay statements, just like being in Civvie Street, so either method would prove you were Ex Forces!

Not sure I agree with either current or Ex Servicemen (Of which I'm one), being allowed discounted tickets, otherwise we may well have to look at Emergency Services Personnel etc., getting discounts as well.

Whilst the Emergency Services do a worthwhile job as well, they are all on very good wages, unlike some of the lower ranks in the Army for example!

I am in the RAF and to be fair the thing about lower ranks of Forces and their pay rankles me. I was there trust me and I was earning shit money when in Iraq as were mates of mine but

1) I am a volunteer pure and simple. No one forced me to join and I knew the wage when I joined.

2) I am educated ish and joined up in a trade where I had chance to get on. Many are not and seriously without the army/navy/raf would be mcdonalds workers at best earning less than 16k a year as they do in the army. So when the moans appear that fireman and coppers earn more than privates in the army or sac's in the raf etc they would never be able to be coppers or firemen as not educated sufficiently . FACT!!!!!!!!

I was a junior rank in the RAF and Ieft in 1995 and my leaving salary was £16,500 then , so index linked I would imagine that the same rank in 2010 would be on a damn sight more than that ? :ayatollah:

Just watched this:-

Whilst I was initially undecided, I've now made up my mind and think that not only should they get discounted entry into our ground, they should get free entry into every ground in the country!
