The problem is, Mike, mods have a tightrope to walk. Too light moderation / too tight moderation both lead to their own problems.

You've traditionally (imo) been too light. There have been instances where some posters have basically got away with creating online personas where they've jumped on any little mistake posted, any rumour, fact incorrect. People then jump on that bandwagon because they seem it's "allowed". You've then got cliques created.

There's now situations where posts on CCMB are created "gloating" if they perceive info passed on by say Carl may be slightly incorrect. There's been an anti-AAMB clique for a long time, it's not difficult to determine the ringleaders.

I'd also say it's not a case of "both". One MB really knows it's football as 4-1 would tend to indicate
