Totally agree with you, i find it difficult to believe that warnock wanted to build a team around a player he hardly played last season after spending £10 million on him. Reid looks as if he has brought this move on by not turning up since pre-season training which is shocking, that said warnock's style of football will never play to reid's strength, so why was he bought in the first place???

Disappointed to see Bobby Reid go; but at £11.5m for a player, that has to be seen as a great piece of business

Worse statement of the day (from Bobby Reid): "I've wanted to be here (Fulham)for a long time"

For the insert (Fulham) replace with any side prepared to take him and pay him... ;)

It's good business sven but very disappointing to not see any of the money used to bring in quality replacements, especially in midfield.

We can split hairs if we want but at the end of the day the player wanted out and Warnock didn't want him.

Yup, and he was under contract.

If Warnock didn't want him and put him up for sale fine but he's getting to good at spinning our fans.

Which part of all this has Warnock spun? It seems to me that it was a mutual agreement between the player and club to part ways.

So why is he rabbiting on about the agent and how he wanted to build a team around him.

Now it's Warnock didn't want him and put him up for sale.

Just tell me why are you always slagging off Warnock are you just a moaning sod or have you got a genuine reason for slagging him off, I have been supporting city over 60 years and he is one of the best managers city have ever had. there is an old saying "If you cannot say anything good about someone, then shut up and say nothing"

Neil Warnock's brand of football didn't suit me - Bobby Reid reveals reason for shock Cardiff City to Fulham move -

By Glenn Williams(Media Wales)

Saturday 10th August 2019

Bobby Reid has revealed he left Cardiff City to join Fulham because he felt hamstrung by Neil Warnock's brand of football.

Warnock revealed this morning that Reid's agent sounded him out over his client's potential departure three weeks ago, but the manager baulked at the idea.

However Reid's persistence forced Warnock's hand and he was eventually afforded the chance to speak to other clubs, namely Bristol City and Fulham.

And Reid, speaking for the first time since making the switch to Craven Cottage, revealed he spent many a sleepless night owing to anxiety over a move he was so desperate to force through.

BOBBY REID:

"I got the train up and got here literally a couple of minutes before the deadline," he told Fulham's club website . "I'm buzzing to be here, now I can sleep properly.

"I think there was a bit of interest, but I don't think Fulham knew I was up for sale until quite late. I got told on Monday that if something happens I can leave. So it was a bit of a rush but thankfully it got done.

"I think it was probably best for both parties. Maybe the style of play the manager wanted to play didn't suit me and it was probably better for him and for me if we parted company.

"I've got nothing against him but I'm here and I've wanted to be here for a long time so I'm happy to be here."

The 26-year-old arrived in the Welsh capital last summer in an £8.5million deal with the Bluebirds hellbent on bolstering their attack ahead of the Premier League season.

But Reid managed just five goals in 29 outings in all competitions last term, often being forced to make cameo appearances from the bench, and admitted he endured a disappointing campaign.

"It's the best league in the world," he said of the Premier League. "I wish I could have played more and showed what I could do, but it wasn't to be.

"Now I've got an opportunity with Fulham to get back there."

It is understood Cardiff stand to make a £1.5m profit on Reid's sale when his move to Fulham becomes permanent following his season-long loan.

Reid believed his style of football did not align with that of manager Neil Warnock
He will link up with his former Bristol City academy contemporary Joe Bryan, as well as former Cardiff loanee Harry Arter, at Fulham, where, he claimed, it has been his long-held ambition to play.

"It's crazy we are both here now together," he said of his reunion with Bryan. "I've always said to him I wanted to be at Fulham, so for us to be here together is a little crazy.

"I said to my agent before it's one club I'd like to play for. The stadium, fans, the way they play football and it's all come together now.

Paul, I hope it turns out good business and Reid does not score 20 plus goals for Fulham, plus I agree I feel we could of brought more quality in.

Should have put a sell on clause in the contract. If he bangs in 20 goals this season like he did last time his value will probably be closer to 20mill.

There may well be a clause!

Re: ‘ CARDIFF WILL GET £11.5MILL ‘

This does not sound right to me. Are we saying he is on loan to Fulham and they have to buy him from us unconditionally in January or at the end of the season? What happens if say he gets a really bad in jury in December and is out for the rest of the season do Fulham still have to buy him in January then. What happens is he is useless for Fulham and they don't want him. This whole thing does not make any sense.

But was he ever that good? One decent season, 20 goals. Another six in 6 years there wasn’t it? Worth building a team around?
Hmmm I’m not so sure. I don’t buy into all this playing style football guff too, as if most of our players can’t pass?? What bollox, they can all play a bit, but choose to play to whatever strengths they have. I think he was a bit of a panic buy, a gamble for 8 million and fortunately we make a profit on it anyway. Unlike madine

I'll say it as I see it, I've supported Warnock in many threads elsewhere. In my opinion he is the best and my favourite manager since supporting City.....it doesn't mean he is always right and people can have opinions on him.

On the plus side for this season Reid can’t play against us home or away due to being a loanee.

And since when did a boy from Bristol have dreams of playing for Fulham of all clubs

Reading what NW said in his press conference yesterday I think Reid’s moaned at his agent and his agent pushed as NW stated he wanted to build the team around Reid..... that says he was in the managers plans for this season but again it’s the same old story of agents involved and a player who thinks he’s bigger and better than a club

Luke, it transpires Bobby Reid's agent was actively talking to other parties some weeks before the Fulham announcement and Cardiff City were only told when the player's deal had effectively been agreed

That is what has angered the City hierarchy most and it was at this point they decided to let him go 'quickly' under the conditions reported elsewhere (£11.5m once certain criteria have been reached, inc. number of games played)

Reid himself has been one of three 'problems' in the City dressing room and another of those (Cunningham) was also shipped out, albeit initially on loan

The other has had the Riot Act read to him but I'll not name him, as he has a chance to redeem himself and had a decent game yesterday (removing the obvious candidate from the equation)

Lee Tomlin is surprisingly still here after efforts were made to ship him out right up until the transfer window closed. Don't expect to see him play a major part in the team going forward...

I'm going to guess that the third player was substituted in the second half yesterday and he didn't look too pleased about it either.

Just before he was substituted Warnock gave him an absolute bollocking for not chasing a ball forward to the corner and took him off shortly afterwards.

Had some good runs and touches yesterday but final ball or finish was lacking but also took a lovely free kick which led to our opening goal.

Or Smithies? He was after all left behind for the US tour.

As for Reid, you have to admire him! He's the first player I've heard of in 50 years of watching football who has said it was his ambition to play for Fulham! And praising their stadium.
