I think that the relationship between Ross and DJ has probably broken down. Rumour has it that he sulked last season and was not a good influence on some of the lesser squad members.

300k seems a small amount, though, although presumably there will be sell-on clauses if he goes somewhere bigger in future. (He may get his act together off the field)

Good luck to him - potentially still a good player. But he could fall flat on his behind - time will tell.

300k is a shambles to be fair you want at least a mill IYAM.

agreed - not happy with £300,000 at all, however like you I hope a massive sell on clause has been included in the agreememnt.

The problem probably is that his £8K a week, could be used for someone to play. Having a glorified Sub on those wages is a waste and he is bound to be fed up which could cause problems for DJ........

Leeds don't look in a desperate hurry to take him on even for that little fee, we have overpaid in the past and need to shift out those on big wages that can't play.

£300K is his value, we have touted him round for months and that is all anyone is prepared to pay, it's McCormacks fault, DJ played our best strikers on ability and effort and he couldn't show enough to force his way back in.

We have had a credit crunch and a bit of reality in football, ignore passed figures, half of them are plucked out of the sky anyway.

Re: THURSDAY UPDATE

As Bluebina and RichardBluebird have pointed out with the addition of a saving on wages the McCormack deal is worth £700,000 (with presumably a sell on clause also.)

That amount will no doubt help finance the Keogh deal so again the Malaysians are operating a good housekeeping policy, even if it means losing a favourite player of mine.

Personally I have no problem with the current transfer policy. We are asset building through our academy whilst avoiding paying out huge transfer fees but are still getting in experienced players who will make an impact. Also it would be daft to pay transfer fees whilst we have this Ray Ranson thing hanging over us.

I understand these players will return to their parent clubs at the end of the season, but what is to stop us loaning players again next season? For me it’s a no brianer.

PS Thanks for another great update Carl. :ayatollah:

Richard, the default and interest charges on other loan and financial agreements that the club defaulted on with late repayments etc etc... Cancels out any profits!!

To me £300,000 is a piss take. Now chopra is injured who is the immediate like for like replacement??? To me this is a crazy deal!

In the long run its a good bit of business, why would you want that little pizzaface fucker around the squad trying to bring everyone down to his level. Bad apple and barrels, like I said we cant have everything. We need to get the finances sorted out as a priority and have to make do with what we have on it, which in all fairness is not bad really is it. Good riddence to Ross, you find the sell on clause will be in our favour. Its what he is valued in todays market as he is his own downfall.

They might have been thinking that at one time, but obviously something went wrong when Rossco met up with Keane.

When Keane realised Ross was well over-rated in todays market, McCorkmack is responsable for his own downfall.

Agreed the sell on clause makes sense because as Carl pointed out we have to pay a sigificant % to Ray Ranson in interest if the deal went over £500,000.

The plan/gamble must be that Rossco is very successful at Leeds and eventually gets sold on for something like the £4m that he was once valued at and we get at least a 25% cut, after Ray Ranson loan has been cleared up.

Even at a low 300k the best club he could get was Leeds.....might tell you something. Maybe his drinking, eating and driving incident are not that desirable for professional clubs anymore.

All this climax about more big name signings is getting out of hand now, as long as we sign riggot or atleast one more centre half i will be very happy!!

He came on a lot last year and made very little impact. The bottom end of the transfer market has fallen so much. Top end has gone mad but at our level 300k is probably what we can expect for Ross.
