The trouble is this pub was where we all were before the game and where a lot of city were parked, so surely the old bill should of manned it after the game.
I had my 10yr old with me yesterday who comes away with me, this has seriously made me consider attending away games with him in the future.I don't condone violence but when this happens you have got to defend yourself.
My two mates plus a fella from Brecon were ok but had quite nasty injuries the old bill took photos and all our names and addresses, somehow i don't think any thing will happen.
On a positive note after the delay etc the driver of our minibus got us back ta abergavenny in just over 2hrs
nice one Georgy boy.

This is another case of bad parenting as your kids would have those memories with them for years. Shame on you as parents !!!

Unfortunately CF14 I didn't take my kids to the game yesterday for the same reason.
2 great old clubs that sadly over the years have got more than their share of thugs amongst their support.
By the sounds of it Pompey fans were the perpetrators of the trouble yesterday but if we're being honest we have similar idiots who pick on scarfers and other soft targets.

Parents take there kids to games cause its supposed to be a family sport !
Bad parenting ? I dont think so.. i and my son shouldnt have to be threatened anywhere we go (especially from 5/6 chav's).
Once again Thanks to the big fella in the green superdry T-shirt who came to my aid when he seen me throwing my son over a wall after he'd been punched 2/3 times, If i knew ur name i thank u personally !!!!!!

barnesy, sorry for your experience mate, glad your ok.BarnesyBlue77 wrote:As 1 of the 2 merthyr boys who got jumped near the Good Companion pub I would just like to personally thank the buses that came to our aid ( you know who you are guys) and for the retribution that was swiftly dished out.
As we approached the pub there was a large group of boys in the car park who, as we had previously been in the pub prematch, naturally assumed were Cardiff. However as we passed through them we started to receive a lot of aggro by the time we realised who they were the punches started coming in I was struck several times but managed to keep walking through the car park as the crowd turned on us we were then followed 100yds up the street before we turned and had a go. Unfortunately as has already been mentioned there were approx 12 -15 of them so to say it was a bit one sided would be taking the piss. The arrival of the buses signalled the end of our skirmish and I had a few tasty little injuries to take home with me.
The fact the police can turn what we thought was a Cardiff pub back to the Pompey without any warning or notice is beyond belief. Why was there no police presence within the car park to prevent something like this happening? Only they can answer that.
By the way alfie we werent the old timers you made us out to be I,m 33 and my mate is 42 ha ha
