Disagree with that. He’s worked wonders keeping this squad up.

Unfortunately the club is in a terrible position and it’s hard to see the route out of it (unless the club gets sold)…
With Sabri - he gets to mould a team to his style of play and bring his own players in but with what sort of budget? Likely to be next to nothing..

Without Sabri - what sort of manager with any sense would want to work under VT and the board? I’ve no doubt that there would be a handful of clubs in a similar position in terms of the table.. but with far better budgets and bosses to work for..

It’s a tough one, Sabri for me needs to be given the opportunity to bring his own players in and stamp a mark on this team.

You must be joking!

What he’s managed to do with this squad of players, and you don’t want him in charge for the re-build?

Sorry, but you absolute fool.

Re: Sabri not the man next season

He's done exactly the job that was required of him.

It must be remembered that he signed none of these players and had to make do with the hand he was dealt.

Seems to have the respect of the players and there is a good team spirit as shown on Thursday.

On the other hand his tactics against Swansea, Stoke and Sunderland were questionable and some of his substitutions have been baffling. Left Robinson on the field for far too long when injured against Reading which could have been costly.

Seems to think that Ojo and Sawyers are worthy of a place in the team and the fact that he thought for one second that Ojo could play at left back is deeply worrying.

Next season he'll be having to manage within a budget which will be the square root of f**k all as it appears that the club is quite comfortable being under a transfer restriction which will limit them to free signings and loans and look how that's turned out this season.

Having said all that I cannot imagine any other manager of better quality wanting to touch our club with a bargepole so I'd certainly keep him but without backing and having to cope with the current below average squad he'll only struggle.

100% spot on and for all the folk who slag Ralls off, well wtf happened when he went off? All shape gone.

Spot on Jules..

The Etete for Kaba change was pretty like for like and some would argue the better move but the shape changed from the moment went off and despite the huff and puff we were always likely to make an error in midfield that put the defence under more pressure; and so it was...

I currently have a short-list of three players for my Player of tge Season and Joe Ralls is on it...
.

Kipre and Kaba the other two Chris?

Kipre my player of the season anyway.

But I slated Ralls a lot last season and he's proved me wrong this season. I didn't want his contract extended and he's shown what he can do. So very happy to be wrong on that.

Yes, Ned. You are spot on in all cases...

Joe Ralls was the victim of our 'boo-boy' element when all he's donr is work hard for this club...

However like you, if push came to shove, I'd go Cedric Kipre followed by Sory Kaba with the former getting my vote because he's been class all season long

For 'Young Player of the Season there can be only one; the Highlander...

Oops! I mean Jaden Philogene-Bidace  :ayatollah:

SB 1927 wrote:Disagree. He's as good as we'll attract currently and has clearly coached some into (slightly) better performances; mainly Etete.

We need stability. Offer him a contact, full pre season.

Countering that, why would Sabri want to stay? The job that need to be done is huge. I don't think Pep or Klopp could sort us out. It's a 6 month roll at best due to the shambles of a squad we have when you remove the loanees.

Another aimless big summer ahead.

How can people think that getting rid of Lamouchi is a good idea !!??

Who the hell do they think would come in and do a better job ? Probably the same people who were saying that we could get Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche !!

Lamouchi is experienced and he had to make do with the players that were already here. He got it right, particularly away from home, but our lack of pace/creativity cost us at home when trying to break teams down.

Give him a close season to try and change things to play in a way he’s comfortable.

People calling for Lamouchi who would you get in to replace him ? Please don’t say Nathan Jones because I’ll just point to his time at Stoke and Southampton plus the fact Luton are doing better now without him !!!

Sabri for me but hope we don't end up with him and Sol walking in mid season if the board lie and don't back them.
Hopefully yesterday's strange selection was to see for himself who to keep and who to bin.

I see nothing in Jones that would make me want him as a manager apart from the fact he’s Welsh !!!!

Re: Sabri not the man next season

I would love Lamouchi but my preferred vote would be for Nathan Jones.

It's not just because he is Welsh, he is a local lad, a city fan, and gets the area.

Look at the Ojo and Saywer's comments, we prefer heart and guts to finesse players. Nat's problem has been the clubs he has gone to expected Pep ball but got a fidgety, uncouth, direct Rhondda boy. Then look at footballs Mr Hate figure, Neil Warnock and he is lauded by us.

Give Nat a three or four year deal and Dof who is on board with the style and start winning at home again.

I think Lamouchi hasn't a club builders CV, he did an amazing job and is a top coach but can he build a club? Warnocks the same they are short termer solutions and we need a three year plan.

I absolutely would love Sabri though.

Re: Sabri not the man next season

To be fair. He may be a fan of sawyers - I believe they worked together before. But in his new role that Sabri gave him, he had some solid performances.

Ojo was hardly the first name on the team sheet. But 3 managers picked him. I may be wrong. But Sabri picked him the least amount of times as a starter. He is capable of some tidy performances but is hopelessly inconsistent and his poor performances are very poor unfortunately

The six point deduction.

Mon May 01, 2023 11:01 pm

I think huddersfield will lose to Sheffield utd but will draw or win against reading, meaning if they hadn't had a six point deduction it would have been us going down.

Ok lamouchi has saved us, but in this situation do you think he is that good a manager, our home record is appalling after all ????

For me it's Lamouchi OUT.

Opinions ??

Exactly this, one successful spell at Luton (that he obviously can’t move on from). Sabri for me all fay every day
