His loan signing’s were absolutely spot on and I defy anyone to get 7 better loan signings at our level than…Dramah, Doughty, Uchi, Hugill, Doyle, Philegene and Kipre nobody could have done better than that!!!

Good luck to the guy might be a better manager than people on here think !!

Agreed

FB Chris Watters:

Now that's his level yet a year ago pretend positives were lauding him as putting together a great team and of playing brilliant attacking football...like warnock was obvious choice.. and slade trollope harris morrison Hudson clearly were not...now we have people excited over a Turkish lad with no experience here who the board have offered a one year contract..such is their belief in him...

I suspect Nathan Jones was correct pick at this time..city just hoping one day they get a lucky appointment ...no proper strategy or diligence applied to recruitment procedure of managers or players at all..

Steve Morison named manager of Isthmian League side Hornchurch FC just weeks after being strongly linked with Cardiff City job

The former Bluebirds boss was among the early contenders to succeed Sabri Lamouchi, but instead will be preparing for matches against Dulwich Hamlet and Hashtag United after Vincent Tan was persuaded to change his mind by Mehmet Dalman.

Former Cardiff City boss Steve Morison has been named the new manager of non-league side Hornchurch FC, just weeks after being strongly linked with a return to the Bluebirds.

Morison was believed to be considered by Vincent Tan for the Cardiff job just eight months after being sacked by the Bluebirds. Instead the club opted for the much bolder move of appointing former Fenerbahce man Erol Bulut, which has enthused the fan base again.

Morison, meanwhile, is now set to get to work in the Isthmian Premier League, the seventh tier of English football, where he will taking on the likes of Billericay Town, Dulwich Hamlet, and Hashtag United.

Hornchurch finished second in the league last year, four points behind champions Bishop's Stortford, who subsequently won promotion to the National League North.

Going one better this season will undoubtedly be part of Morison's brief.

Commenting on the move, Chairman Alex Sharp said Morison's willingness to drop down the divisions to further cut his teeth as a head coach was one of the key factors in the decision to hire him as their next boss.

"From the first time I spoke with Steve I knew we had found our next manager," he said. "I was drawn in by the Millwall connection, but then so impressed by his experience, professionalism and how driven he is.

"I have loved listening to his plans of how he intends to take the club forward and I love the fact that he thinks nothing of dropping down to non-league to create opportunities going forward.

“We have a great squad at the club and the players are very excited to meet Steve and to see how he will help develop their careers."

Morison himself added: “I am thrilled and honoured to announce that I have taken on the role of First Team Manager of Hornchurch FC.

"As we embark on this new season, I want to assure you that I am committed to bringing success to Hornchurch FC. I will work tirelessly with our players, coaching staff and management to ensure that we perform at our best and achieve our goals.

“I am passionate about football and believe that together, we can build a strong and successful team. I am excited to work with the existing players and the wider Hornchurch FC community to create a culture of excellence on and off the pitch."

I don’t really care if he was harsh on youngsters, they’ve all regressed since he’s left, so he was clearly doing something right.

He kept us up after a disastrous start to the season playing youngsters who people have since written off as crap. Well those players either aren’t crap or he did a great job.

Season just gone had us playing pretty football, at points tearing teams apart. Okay it wasn’t particularly consistent but that’s to be expected after completely overhauling the squad and not being given the time for them to gel. He was clearly a striker away, and just as he gets Callum Robinson he gets sacked two games later!

I can’t believe that he’s had to drop so far and wonder if it’s to do with references or something because surely a football league club would take a chance on him given his job in keeping us up.

good post proper balanced view
just another observation from the past
when malky had us falling out of the premier league
this board and Cardiff City fans all over went over board in backing him by saying we were never in the bottom 3
even though we were dropping l8ke a stone
malky has to be the worse manager city have ever had
we need to get behind tan and support him and welcome him back
yet the biased posters on here ,dont mention that morison was never in the bottom 3 and saved us from relegation aswell ???

There was a complication prior to Steve Morison being appointed Hornchurch FC boss - he was in 'active conversations to go back' to Cardiff, according to their chairman.

Yes, good luck to Steve. Some people have short memories on here. Ultimately the guy has taken a job and shouldn't be ridiculed for it. Assuming they'll also be ripping into Rambo if he comes here.. is this his level?
