Seem to recall that he had an initial 6 months contract that could be extended for another year and beleive Annis said recently that he had 7 different clubs contact him and had gone away on holiday to consider them all and perhaps he is still thinking them over hence not mentiohed in the retained list.

Got the impression though that he wouldn't be staying either becuase our offer was crap or we told him he would be playing in the Welsh League for the next 12 months whilst other offers had potential first team opporunties, albeit lower league.

Lennon was offered a 18mth contract by City and was happy to go through with it, but yes he was the player the local media said turned down a move to a Welsh League club on loan and so walked away at the end of the season. Well done to him.

How can Darren Purse expect a lad who has spent 14 yrs at Premiership West Ham then to Cardiff go out on a season long loan to Pontypridd United , absolutely madness by Purse , who is clueless anyway.


It’s absolutely a disgrace how we have been running the U21’s the last 2 yrs and I have been saying this for the last few yrs.


No wonder NO players are making it after the loans we are doing.

One of the biggest issues and always will be until we change academy status is anyone who looks really decent gets poached by a cat 1

I think Harris can do a job in a squad in a Championship club whose realistic aim will be Championship survival.

Allowing him to go could be a monumental mistake by our club and Darren Ourse needs to be replaced if he thinks the Welsh League is the place to 'blood' players heading for Championship football...

I'm told it's so the club 'can keep an eye on them' but unless we want to save on fuel costs surely that's not a serious consideration...?

Too early to comment on what to expect from this new manager, but the retained list does worry me as there are too many players who are not top half Championship standard.
I hope to see some better quality to join them, or expect another relegation fight.

Retained because they are under contract, that’s it really. Gonna need backups anyway and competition in the squad even if we bring in new players.

I agree , half of them need and will be moved out yet again
