It was like when the Institute of Black Lawyers (what the f**k they have to do with football is anyone's guess) came out with a statement around warning Spurs fans singing Yid Army.

One of the biggest 'supporter group' flags inside the CCS is a Proud Bluebirds flag donned with the LGBTABCDXYZ+@ colours (I say this partially in jest, its reach seems to broaden every year but we get to celebrate it over the whole of a month of the year, one day for those who have fallen protecting the country) . The FAW are also continually promoting that type of inclusion.

I have no issue if a gay guy / women wants to go and watch a game of football, but lets not impose your cause on the majority of fans who use football as an escape from the day to day shit we have to put up with.

On the Rent boy chant, given homosexuality is now widely accepted in the UK, surely the offensive bit anyway is the accusation of money for said services, a bit like rocking up at a womens game and calling the keeper a prostitute after taking a goal kick (not likely to happen). Hate crime - I don't think so.

The problem is you (and I) are looking at this through our own (I’m assuming straight) lenses.

Would I want to be a gay/black guy attending a football match with some of the things that are said? No I wouldn’t.

It’s much bigger than, “oh come on it’s only banter”

I'm not sure what part of the ground you stand / sit in but I can count on one hand the number of times I have heard anything openly racist at Cardiff. My first proper season attending was in 1998. I don't think anyone is looking to pass racism off as banter and its not at all referenced in the survey.

I’m in the Canton mate and thankfully I’ve not heard a lot either. Perfect world we don’t hear any and that’s why I personally believe a zero tolerance approach is needed. Appreciate people will have different views and that’s all good. It’s what a message board is all about.

Hi,

A big thank you to everyone who completed my questionnaire and commented on this forum. I'm very grateful.

My first questionnaire followed the arrests of 2 Wolves fans at Brighton in 2019. The paper associated with that data will be published in March and can be accessed here (please note that the $15 cost has got absolutely nothing to do with me, it is the journal's fee)...

https://cgscholar.com/bookstore/works/f ... F282%2F287

I am now writing a paper on some of the data from the questionnaire that you contributed to. I expect this to be published in late 2024.

Good luck with the rest of the season....

Hi Peter, I rarely complete these requests from other club's supporters but made an exception for yours, as it is a very current and emotive topic...

I hope you get the answers you need but feel sure the answers you get will show how broad is the thinking of football supporters who come in all shapes, sizes and ages...! :ayatollah:

I wouldn’t, but no one has ever had an issue or oppressed me for being white and straight.

And let’s not forget, oppression is still a thing for blacks, homosexuals etc. When you are in a majority it is difficult to emphasise with the minority.

In what way, anti discrimination whether it’s on gender, race, sexuality or religion is enshrined in British Law. Problem is is all these grifters who work for these “charities “ have to keep finding discrimination, or they’ll lose their funding and have to get a real job.

I’m not saying Britain is a racist country. That’s not the debate. The debate is quite a well thought out one until you got involved.
