Greek international. What type of player were you expecting mate?

Well if Dalman stated a game changing player, you don’t expect 99% of city fans having to google him to find out who he is

Gamechanger may not be famous and may more relate to changing the way we play and giving us an upturn in results and points.

Sometimes you can have a good squad but miss that one important cog.

I can guarantee that not one Arsenal fan would have googled Berkamp for the simple reason it did not exists when he first signed in 95 and google launched in 98. They may have asked jeeves lol

Damn.. was hoping no one was going to notice. I’d be clutching at straws with the ‘it’s technically correct’ defence.

He probably thought Oxlade-Chamberlain or Tom Davies were inbound

Could be the same Greek holding midfielder that Goutas' cousin mentioned to me last Saturday?

His contract was only terminated yesterday by Trabzonspor, so unless Goutas has a crystal ball then who knows. :?:

Manolis Siopis exit details emerge
The details surrounding Manolis Siopis' contract termination at Trabzonspor have come to light in reports from Turkey.

Siopis had a year left to run on his deal in Trabzonspor, and was even offered a new three-year deal to boot, however Siopis opted to turn down the extension and instead engineered a way out of his contract. Cardiff could then pounce and sign him on a three-year deal themselves, which was announced earlier today.

The terms of that exit settlement have been reported by outlets and journalists in Turkey. Newspaper Haberturk state that Siopis had to pay €242,500 (£207,000) to exit his contract and his agent had to waive €257,500 (£220,000) he was due from the club.

Interestingly, in addition, it is reported that if Siopis transferred to any club from the Greek Super League, Saudi Arabia, the UAE or an English Premier League team by the end of 2023, €700,000 (598,000) would be due to Trabzonspor. If he went to another Turkish Super Lig team, Trabzonspor would have to be paid another €2m (£1.71m) by Siopis.

However, given Cardiff play in the Championship, it seems no more will be due out of his own pocket to his former club. But the sheer willing and financial commitment shown to get the player out of his contract will serve to delight Bluebirds fans, knowing how hard he has tried to get on board with Erol Bulut, his former Alanyaspor boss, and the project at Cardiff City.

Siopis was one of two signings announced today, along with goalkeeper Alex Runarsson on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season.

If not a "game changing player" he surely has been a "team changing" player. Undoubtably he's had a major impact, all over the pitch breaking up play winning back the ball and using it wisely. A fantastic signing along with our other Greek calossus Demi.
Roll on January when we can make a few Moore additions! :occasion5:

Had to laugh when during the pre-match handshakes there were a few Huddersfield mascots who were taller than Siopis!

Don't know where he gets his energy from - I'm knackered just watching him.

It always makes me laugh when I see him challenging for headers. He does win a few though to be fair.

Reminds me of Ken Hollyman from the 1940s team, small and full of energy.

Used to play golf with Ken and his other ex bluebird mate, Clive Slocombe, at St Mellon's. Both predated me as a fan, but a smashing pair of blokes.
