Hopefully the lad has a bit of Gary Medel about him

Really happy with this.

I don't know if the Uk has ever produced a decent defensive midfielder, not sure we really coach it, we tend to have hybrid centre halfs/CM's who are not really centre halfs or CM's (Amapdu,Rice, Stones, Dyer) but not a Kante, Makelele, Deschamps, Mattheus, Dunga type swift crisp passers who intercept, tackle and set the pace of the attack.

I have only found good comments regarding Manolis Siopis and the Greek fans loved him.

I really hope he hits it off with us in the Championship :bluebird: :bluebird:

Very positive Annis.

Interesting that he personally paid over £200k to get himself out of his contract in Turkey so he could join.

Yes I read that Ned.

Everything I have read on him is very positive.

He thinks very very high of Erol Bulut and could not wait to join him

Sounds fab Annis. Seems a real grafter and maybe he’s the tough nut we’ve been missing.

Seen him play before. Cracking player. Nippy and will hound the opposition for the ball his work rate was mental and can pick a pass. Can't believe we've got him tbh :bluescarf:

I'd even go out on a limb and say he's our best signing yet. :bluebird:

Let's hope he's the same for us.

Great signing and welcome to the club. This year seems different compared to the past 2. I’m usually impatient but considering our embargo we’ve done well this time, I maybe wrong like the Mrs usually say, but I’m quite optimistic this season.

Siopis had a year left to run on his deal in Trabzonspor, and was even offered a new three-year deal to boot, however Siopis opted to turn down the extension and instead engineered a way out of his contract. Cardiff could then pounce and sign him on a three-year deal themselves, which was announced earlier today.

The terms of that exit settlement have been reported by outlets and journalists in Turkey. Newspaper Haberturk state that Siopis had to pay €242,500 (£207,000) to exit his contract and his agent had to waive €257,500 (£220,000) he was due from the club.

Welcome :bluebird:

Unbelievable signing mate.

Credit to Bulut for this because they're mates.

When Bulut took over I knew the one thing he wasn't going to do was trawl through the lower leagues looking for players, and luckily I've been proved correct. Signing players like Curtis Nelson and Gavin Whyte have showed our lack of ambition but luckily this seems to have been rectified. I wouldn't be surprised to see players like Wintle and Ng to be used less and less by the manager as the season progresses.

Impressed with Bulut for this one, as Wintle has zero competition really, and has been ineffective in some games. It's been a gap that hasn't really been addressed. Well managed.

Ryan Wintle: Cardiff City midfielder signs new contract to 2026

Did you not post on this breaking news a few weeks backs to voice your views on him ???
