Wow! Just wow! Does the man have no shame.. ? :banghead:

Keith alluded to the fact 'Special' Agent McKay had been stood down as a 'bankrupt' and now this...

He should write a book: "What McKay Did Next...!"

I support Vincent Tan in his quest to get to the bottom of what occurred in the Sala case and despite some losses in other battles in the past, I sincerely hope he wins this one, if only to show the scandal of the FC Nantes/McKay side of the whole case...

Clearing the name of Cardiff City FC, assuming it has actually bern sullied in the bigger picture, is important to those of us who love our club...! :ayatollah:

I agree with you Chris, it will be and should be pursued so that Nantes are shown in the proper(very bad) light in the transaction and in the series of events that led to the tragic death of Emiliano Sala and the pilot.

The club made a number of mistakes over the Sala transfer including allowing the manager at the time to proceed with a transfer involving an intermediary he well knew wasn`t authorised to be involved in any shape or form in the deal.

McKay and Nantes can claim all they want that he wasn’t involved, but in his own words, “Why get registered when my son is registered?” (https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... la-cardiff).

Or one better, where he openly admits himself that he personally emailed Sala encouraging him to make the move (https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... la-cardiff).

I’m fairly confident that access to the documents that the club are requesting will make this a fairly open and shut case and allow us to push forward with our claim against Nantes.

Great points and like you, I feel the end of this sad saga is nigh; and then we can clear our (apparently sullied) name, see FC Nantes and Secre Agent McKay for the desperados they were, and (I pray) give Emiliano and the Sala family the answers and closure they so richly deserve...

No one will come out of this intact; but the scales of balance are tilting back towards our club and by default the battling and persistent Vincent Tan, who has battled on this in the face of adversity...

Credit it to him (and his legal team) for that at least...! :ayatollah:

Very well said.

Let’s not forget the real loser in all this madness Sala and his family

An innocent young man lost his life due to the incompetence and sheer greed of numerous people especially the agents and “representatives “ involved

We should pursue any action that shows up these blood sucking vermin for what they really are

Hopefully McKay and Nantes are made to pay for their greed

We have had to take a hit on a court action to allow us to go for where the money is.

We lost the "he is not our player" argument so we had to pay up. It was always the aim to go for Nantes FC but the only way we could do that was through Mackey himself. We need to prove he was directly connected to Nantes. If we can get that stamped by the courts then that leaves us a direct route to Nantes. That was the plan all along.

This could take a couple of seasons to finalise.

My first post in what I consider to be a brilliant thread!

I have a couple of questions. One how much did Tan secure for the club with his win against the broker? I would guess (it is only a guess) that it is around £5m maybe a little more.

Secondly, I agree with going after Nantes for compensation, but just how much could CCFC realistically achieve? I can't see it being anywhere near £100m and even if we got £20 the value of the transfer back have Nantes got the resources to pay us? Or would they have to go broke?

Exactly. Whilst it is factually true that CCFC lost in the Court of Arbitration over whether Sala was contracted to CCFC, there was a silver lining in it opened up a second front against Nantes. I have no doubt that was the legal advice right from the start.

I imagine it’s mainly reputation and getting a chunk of the transfer fee back really. Hopefully some form of proper compensation for his loved ones too.
