Re: Kion Etete is…

For the record, my personal view is that Kion Etete is given little to convert but works very hard otherwise. For the first 20 minutes of Saturday's game, he was one of our best players...

But we do need a change and I recall the Dave Jones era, where at one point our fickle support were giving him stick for his intransigent team selections...

At one point, injuries forced a revamp of players and tactics and we never looked back after that under him...

Such are the frailties of management and I hope Erol Bulut is able to pull it around...

Genius (metaphorically) versus Watford last week; out of his depth versus a very good and well-drilled Preston side this week...

Oh the see-saw life of being a Bluebird...! ;) :ayatollah:

I got slated yesterday for even suggesting that it wasn't Etete's fault but that there is no service for any forward no matter who it is.

Etete had warm, generous applause as he left the field, not least, from the canton stand. It seems only a few on here give him abuse.

You are both correct and it's proven with the Yakou Meite situation; he was prolific at Reading but is another one to fall short at the CCS...

It's odd that so many seem to fail here under so many managers. I can't remember the last 'prolific' striker here since 'Earnie' and his 109 goals in 227 games (a fraction short of a goal every other game)

Kion Etete is no worse than many others we have tolerated in recent times... :ayatollah:

Hard done by a lot of the time.

Its hard to see how any striker is going to be at their best with our style of play.

I feel like he has improved this season. Still looks a little lightweight though

I can hand on my heart say I don’t think I’ve seen a worse striker in the 30 years I’ve followed Cardiff. I could pick a player from the crowd that would do a better job. Awful player

His lack of aggression to win tackles and get in the box is unacceptable.

We got a strike force of meite and this clown etete who have scored 3 goals between them in 51 games. Jesus  . Its not hard to see what our problem is but you get what you pay for in most cases.

Agreed , league 2 at best

:bluebird:
I second that, I said the day he signed and guess what I got slated
:bluebird:

Yes and you get slated by me for this thread that picks out a youngster and tries to put the blame on him…..
What about Buluts negative tactics at home?
What about the team set up with a defensive midfield?
What about our continued inability to do a high press!?!
What about Goutas having a ‘mare and Bowler not much better?
What about us playing keep ball but never mixing it up with more direct play ( both PNE goals came from that)?

Yes Etete needs to, and imo will, improve, but picking on a youngster and trying to blame him is pathetic.

Not my topic??

But yes he’s not good enough

Kid 23 yrs old this year , not a kid?

Read my own topic and I don’t blame Etete for today but Bulut, so read please

Well etete better get use to the abuse specially when he puts it in row Z from a couple of yards out in front of an open goal. He is very good at that.

Ugbo was made out to be a "poor signing" and to be fair I initially thought so too but I would have him back over Etete anyday
