The Icelandic former centre-back was Vincent Tans Kortrijk's third manager of the season during a disastrous campaign which almost saw them drop out of the Belgian top flight. He was recruited back in January after impressive work in Denmark with Lyngby Boldklub.

Vincent Tans club who finished second from bottom of the leagueKV Kortrijk manager Freyr Alexandersson has admitted he would love to manage Cardiff City and his dream would be to take them into the Premier League.

Alexandersson is on a high after his Kortrijk side avoided relegation i a play-off relegation battle to the Belgian second tier at the weekend thanks to a play-off win over Manchester City feeder club Lommel.

“I have heard Cardiff is a big club and it’s been mentioned to me, I would love to manage a club the size of Cardiff.”

He has struggled at times and also worked well at Kortrijk this season, with many believing they looked nailed on to drop down in the Challenger Pro League. Thankfully, with the help of Cardiff loanees Isaak Davies, Sheyi Ojo and Ryotaro Tsunoda, KVK maintained Pro League.

While KVK is, of course, in Vincent Tan's football club portfolio, along with FK Sarajevo, Cardiff City is clear the jewel in that particular crown. The links between Cardiff and KVK, whose CEO is also the Bluebirds' CEO in Ken Choo, appeared to grow stronger this season after a failed sale of the club last year, with the Welsh club utilising the Belgian side to help give players game time.

Whether that extends to swapping managers, however, is another conversation all together. At the time of writing, Cardiff's position is poised delicately, with Erol Bulut still not having agreed a deal to take charge of the club next season. It leaves Cardiff in a state of flux.

Personally wouldn't want to be in your trench undoubtedly you would throw the FOOTSOLDIER out naked and without a gun!.... I'm a pragmatist and dont go in for hysterical reactions to what someone says I've always stated prefer wait to see what happens then I know what is true not what people interprete as true to suit their agenda........ he as ambitions to be a manager in premier league and as he's employed by our owner Cardiff is mentioned but not I am not city's next manager but all you get is hysterical reaction from people on here and faceless book at Meare mention of city..... Anyway i shan't lose sleep over who is next manager as i cannot choose who it is but will still be at city even if Mickey mouse was in charge this season.......
Ps I'm one of the lucky ones don't do any sort social media .. :D

Great sense of humour Allan :thumbright:

By the way I still believe Erol Bulut is still in the running big time.

Who ever it is, I will always give them my full backing.

As I always say 12 League games we know where we are going with them.

Your humour Allan, I will take it well from now on as I’ve finally begun to get use to it.

As to managers we would all like to have top managers, but we know that won’t happen under Tan anymore.

So we have to back who ever comes in even if disappointed.

Bulut looks like he will be the one.

Normally don't get to involved in other people's wars but Palestine I think is appalling and the world got a lot to answer for considering the blatant avoidance of responsibility and blame shifting the Israelis do for their atrocities ... anyway roll on start season going to be challenging for me with only 6 home games at 3pm apparently... Normally get paper tickets for people when I cannot go but now will cost £5 each ticket which I will have to charge my friends.... sign of the times unfortunately...
