Medical done and everything has been signed, just waiting for the official announcement.
Could be later tonight, could be tomorrow.

Our midfield is looking strong.
I read earlier that Man City wanted to include a 60% sell on fee? Is this true?
Hopefully it isn't.

I have to agree. I started following City because of Adrian Alston and also the best kit we have ever had.

These clubs getting Greadier and Greadier use to be around 20% now it's 50/60% yes we will make money if sell him but to lose say half of 10m is steep guess ots price pay for getting these players cheaply in first place.

Robertson deal done then. Official announcement and photos later.

Brilliant news. Can’t wait to see him play.
Annis, it’s been said that he’s quite a way off playing, fitness wise but is it possible he’s been pre season training with Man City?

Great signing if he can reach potential!
Anyone got any links on this 60% sell on clause? Seems really excessive if that’s the case, 10-20%, fair enough. Seems pointless purely financially if it’s that high.
I’ve read deal could reach £3m + 60% sell on clause is bit cheeky from them? And they’ve had a few of our youngsters over last few years - you’d think they would have owed us one?

Looking forward to this being made official - but 60% ????

They recently sold youngster with a 50% sell on clause....looks like they're selling cheaper but know full well they'll be sold eventually at more than they sold them for so get a more realistic price eventually.

These Man City players have been coached to press, keep possession at all costs, move the ball quickly and always look forward.
I hope Bulut doesn't attempt to curtail any of this lad's positive, aggressive instincts. My concern is Turnbull may have been curtailed a bit from his attacking instincts last season.

We are far more attacking season, that is clear for everyone to see.
I know you like to have a go at Bulut at every opportunity, but maybe it’s best to actually wait for the season to properly start before going into that sort of negativity.
As for Turnbull, he didn’t play regularly for Celtic last season before he joined us so I’m not sure how Bulut can be blamed for his drop in form.

Maybe I am on Bulut's case, that's a fair enough point but genuinely, I want him to smash it out the park this season.
This season hasn't started but I'd like Bulut to win me over and show that he's not a one trick pony with his formation choice and tactics.
Barring a handful of matches early on last season, a large percentage of our games had sideways, overly defensive football - that can't be denied. We didn't score many goals and lost too many matched.
I'm hopeful for a positive season with some great attacking football. Our signings so for bode well but I think we're still a bit short with forward options.

Still no announcement!!!!
Tue Aug 06, 2024 4:29 pm
When is it going to be announced ??
Tue Aug 06, 2024 4:33 pm
I know for a fact this is done.
The club are famously slow in announcing things but they’re taking the piss with this one.
Tue Aug 06, 2024 4:43 pm
He's Australian - international clearance obviously being obtained via pigeon carrier
Tue Aug 06, 2024 6:22 pm
The 60% thing is a shame. It does sound as though it is true.
Its the price to pay for getting him so cheap when they clearly rate him and believe he will be sold for a lot more in a few years.
Either way it is still great business.
Tue Aug 06, 2024 7:49 pm
Most likely having to wait for the FAW to give international clearance, can't imagine they have people sitting around just in case one of the 4 clubs in the English pyramid system sign a foreigner whereas the English FA probably have someone dealing with it full time.
But it's not done & dusted as far as I'm concerned until they announce it officially.

We have signed players for big money and let them go for nothing. I would rather sign a promising player for a lot less cash and pay a premium for any future transfer.

As we play in England, have minimal input to the Welsh FA. I really dont understand why we have to be administered by the Welsh FA.
Is there some advantage to us? OR a reason why we cant be governed by the FA?
Tue Aug 06, 2024 8:06 pm
Pompey fans saying they’ve matched the bid and he could go to them.
But it’s just their fans saying this, no media sources reporting it.
I rarely get information but was told last night it was all done for him to sign for us.
Add to that, all media sources are on the Cardiff side are saying it’s done.
So I still repeat what I said, he will sign for us. Hopefully an announcement soon just to settle it officially.
Tue Aug 06, 2024 8:33 pm
Hopefully the Twitter/X posts are like Worcester said and just fans spinning fake news.
Club are taking their time in announcing though

Wouldn’t mind betting it’s doing the rounds simply because we haven’t announced anything yet.

It is a FIFA ruling you have to have clearance from the country you reside in, there are quite a few clubs that play in a different country league than their own Berwick Rangers England plays in Scotland, and The New Saints England plays in Wales, Derry City Northern Ireland plays in The Republic of Ireland, so whereas we have to get international clearance from the Welsh FA to sign players from outside of Wales to play in the English league The New Saints would have to get clearance from the English FA
to sign players in the Welsh set-up, Berwick would have to get clearance from England to play in Scotland

Thank you for that. Makes sense as to why we have to. Cheers

Alex Robertson to Cardiff really close now. Cardiff have done everything their end and are waiting on final paperwork at Man City’s end.
Robertson in Cardiff, raring to get going and simply waiting for the green light, I’m told.
Hopefully soon.
Glen Williams just posted this on Twitter/X.
