I was agreeing with the vast majority of you original post which never mentioned academy yet again now you are changing it to ask academy players My reply was pointing out based on your original post Joe Ralls meet the criteria you put out if you had said last 12 years then no reply would have come to you post I genuinely thought you forgot about Joe and nothing more
I at no point have questions Worcester honesty so please explain why that is mentioned I did say he recently has been belittling many posters views and people have mentioned that in other posts . That certainly not been his way in the past and always liked his posts
Also can someone tell me how long you must be in the academy to be deemed an academy product From age 8 etc

Ok we agree Ralls came through other Academies first then joined ours, later at the age of 17 years old.

But can you answer these 2 questions please?

How many of Our own Academy players in the last 14 years have gone out on loan and come back and become a regular Championship player with Cardiff City?

It's all academic really isn't it!? (sorry) ;-)

Seriously though, our academy system seems to need a lift - a lift in quality, resources, professionalism, expertise maybe?

Some clubs have consistently had top quality production lines, such as: Southampton, The Vermin, Norwich, Bristol City. I won't bother mentioning the Prem clubs because they should be strong here. Can we learn from and copy the clubs I've mentioned?

The facts are their in 14 yrs not one player City has sent out on loan has ever come back and become a Championship player for us.

Evans is the one I still can’t believe, why did we give him a new contract to loan him out yet again?

Tom Davies the same, he’ll probably go on loan again too.

Totally agree with this. Nothing against Evans, but I can’t see him making it at Cardiff. The only reason I think we offered him a contract is that he’s cheap and adds numbers to the squad if needed. It all seems a big waste of time though.

Think question should be how many of our best academy players have been stolen in past 12yrs by clubs before they got chance to play for the club? (4 in last year alone) That is a more truer indicator of things at academy... those left are of
inferior standard so less likely to play in 1st team so loaning out is better for them in the hope they gain relevant
experience through 1st team game time at a lower league club

Probably shouldn’t reply anymore in case I’m accused of belittling anyone

Allan,

Simple answer, We have the whole set up for Academy Status 1, but can only awarded if we bring in higher standard of coaches, so it’s down to us.

Plus it’s 4-5 in 15yrs and I don’t know how they’ve all done.

Plus our players at 16,17 yrs old have looked the business and somehow hone down hill in a couple yrs later??

But this topic is about how come they go out on loan and never make it?

If I was The Hierarchy I would want to know??

If you original post stated our academy I would not have replied Declan John went out on loan and eventually signed for Rangers and still playing for Wales in 2019 I only think thou that was a step in club size as Rangers are a bigger club but not in standard then. But yes our academy has been shocking The fact one has to think really hard about it proves the point

We are both talking on the same page.

If I was the owners I would wonder and be worried why we fail so badly at the next level and the loan deals are not helping our players.
