If he is going to Al-Kholood he will be going for the same initial salary as he is going on loan and £2.5m by way of a total transfer fee.

Could we not have matched this - or offered better, given the sale of McGuinness?

My guess is they got him for £1m loan but will only buy him in the unlikely event that they stay up

Paul it seems a simple thing to sighn him at what is well within city's budget? But as we know signing a football player is not that simple unfortunately...... guess never know why he's gone there unless hes on a promise for next season financially ? I'm sure club would have gone in for him with a good offer ..
