The transfer window is not shut yet, do you all honestly think we will not try and get a striker in or talks are not ongoing. :laughing5:

What does history tell us?

I’m telling you now, we will sign a striker by the end of the window.

Bulut is just using his press conference to put more pressure on the board.

When has that worked?

We'll end up with another dud as always. I would start the window going all out for a striker. We are consistently one of the lowest scoring teams in the Football pyramid let alone the Championship :-)

Again I repeat. We will not sign a striker. I don’t know why the hierarchy or the manager never try to get one / but they never do. Deadline day is always misery got me. It’s the hope that kills.

I think we will; maybe even two (strikers)

The club are not blind but getting a decent striker in is a tough ask, as every club in the EFL is after the same thing…

I also don’t think the manager was ‘knocking’ Kanga in his comments; more that he cannot be expectedly to carry us through the season alone…

Time will tell, though…! :ayatollah:

How many times have we heard this old record its difficult to get a striker getting very wearing.

Give Cain Ashford a start in his best position

On the striker search specifically, Bulut said: "It's not really easy to find the correct striker.”

"On strikers, really, we can say we have only Kanga and a little bit Robbo right now, which is a little bit poor, I think.

"You can find (strikers), but the number also looks different that you have to spend money, so it looks easy, but it’s not.”

“We have got injuries with Kion, he is out for three months, and Isaak Davies had surgery, he is out for four months. I don't know if he can come back before January, I hope he can.”

"We have only Kanga in the Striker position, Robbo [Callum Robinson], we can also use Yakou Meite, but on the wing he is doing well. If (Anwar) El Ghazi gets really fit there is potential we can use him as a striker. But they are more wingers than strikers.

"So striker, really, we can say we have only Kanga and a little bit Robbo right now, which is a little bit poor, I think.

Bulut is a f*cking idiot for not getting strikers in ffs we don't need wingers .

Wez,

Unbelievable, can’t believe I am agreeing with you.
He knew this over a year ago.

We can't go with kanga , etete and Davies ffs the man is a buffon unless he's just playing things down .

Can’t believe I am agreeing again Wez.

I’m really hoping this is just a bit of spin to deflect attention and that they have a few loan targets already identified.

If not then Bulut has made a huge error, that could put him under major pressure. He’s clearly had money to spend so why didn’t he prioritise a striker and then look to strengthen other, less important, positions.

I completely accept that it’s too early to judge Kanga. I think he’s better than what we had last year but it’s a major stretch to think he’ll get 15-20 goals in his first season in this country. I hope he does but it’s got to be an outside bet at best.

I do think we’ll get someone in before the window closes but if we don’t then the finger has to point at Bulut. Money has been spent but he hasn’t prioritised the one position everyone can see is weak.

It sounds like we are waiting on a Premiership loan Striker, the only problem is they don't come until the last week and we risk getting gazumped.

The comments here make me laugh!

“Can’t sign a winger when we don’t have a striker”, you can still continue to sign players whilst looking for a striker! Imagine we didn’t sign anyone at all this window based on this logic?!

“Bulut is an idiot for not bringing in a striker”, who says we haven’t tried?! It’s the hardest position to acquire due to small numbers of quality, and the price you have to pay in order to get someone who can hang in 15-20 every season. Rumours also have been we lost out on quite a few targets to other teams.

It is what it is unfortunately, if the right player isn’t there then that’s tough.

My only criticism is there could have been 1 or 2 gambles on younger international strikers and hoping for the best (which could still come as more proven players are not available or maybe out of price range).

Let’s be honest unless we got a striker who would have scored 9 in the first two games we would still be two losses.

Whole team needs addressing.

I’m not sure about that.

It may not solve ALL the problems but a good striker gives you an outlet, stretches the opposition defence and puts the defenders under pressure. So it can have a much bigger impact than just goals.

I agree.

A striker that presses from the front, closes down defenders and doesn't let the other team easily play out from the back takes the pressure off of the midfield

Also, for me anyway, a good striker will have a long ball passed to him when isolated, but be able to hold the ball up, and to be able to bring other team mates into play.
Otherwise, the ball is lost and comes straight back at you, with the opposition on the attack.
Hope this makes sense? :old:
