Re: Question? , good football or winning?

Can’t we have both?

In the long run, good football likely keeps you up in the PL. Swansea are only still in the Championship due to ownership, selling their players etc. but are still competitive because of the football!

Bulut got us to 12th last season, that’s massive success compared to what we have to endure, but guess what? All the comments here about bad football doesn’t matter, well you guys were complaining non-stop about the football in the field! Even though it got us points…

Not saying it has to be pass pass pass, just good attacking intent like Spurs, Liverpool, even the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth entertain their fans. Leeds? They go for it, entertaining again.

I thought some of Warnock's football was alright, especially at the start of the promotion season, having loads of possession and passing the ball around in your half bores me more. Warnocks teams hit fast on the counter attack and roughed teams up, plus we was winning. Hoilett and Mendez lang flying down the wings I didn't mind it. Premier league then is a totally different ball game but we was unlucky.

Thank god for someone with a long memory. I thought I was the only one on this forum who actually enjoyed the football w were playing. Some of Warnocks football in the first half of our promotion season was great to watch We totally outplayed early season favourites Villa, Leeds and a few others by playing fast attacking football and deservedly went top for a while. We then lost Zahore for a few months and a little later lost 4 on the bounce over Christmas and we were in danger of falling out the race. Warnock realised that he had to adapt and changed the style a bit but it was hardly hoofball. Agree that Premier League was different but as we nearly stayed up.

I don't understand how people can say fooball dire was under Warncok the season we went up. Particularly the first half of the season. Leeds and Villa home in particular - both pre season favourites to go up, were great games, destroyed them both with attacking football and should have scored a lot more. And a great display at Wolves to beat them on their own ground was a stand out point for me. And wasn't that the season that we thumped Leeds 4-1 at Elland Road?.
