Says it all
1st championship game 2 div 1 games and 8 div 2 games not surprisingly got things wrong...was to quick with the red should have consulted other officials ...not even sure he actually say the full incident ..but their player got him sent off by dying on the pitch....any force and he would have had a cut lip and bloody nose ... its the curse of football opposition dying trying to get player sent off

In the heat of the moment, the replacement referee conferred with his assistants and they gave a red card. It was easy to see why, as the arm was swinging and Robinson made contact before apologising profusely
Was that out of guilt or a genuine? Only he will know; but having watched it again, I’d like to think the red card will be overturned on appeal
No malice, not intent, and the Coventry player took full advantage and easily passed his application for an actors Equity Card
Credit to the ten left on the field, inc. substitute when made, they batted well and got a creditable draw from a game most expected them to lose after 47 minutes

Chris 3 games ago we would have lost that game but the difference was we could have won it instead

Most referees wouldn't even give a yellow for that.
Was a red card
Just watched replay had to be red card, worse as we had already conceded a goal.
Are you for real !!??
This has got to be some sort of wind up.
That was never a red card at any level. Are you a Hack in disguise ? You certainly ain’t a Coventry fan because even they are saying it was never a red card !!
Some people on here make me question my sanity !!

Unfortunately in this pathetic day and age by the letter of the law it is a red.

It's not though.
I expect it will be overturned.

It was a clear yellow but not a red....didn't connect with elbow was holding position

Totally agree with you Ned. Didn't think it was a red at the time and still don't now I've seen the replay.
Yes Robbo's arm is up but it's not a swinging arm and there's no power behind it. Cov defenders reaction made a very poor ref make the wrong decision.
Hopefully we will appeal and win otherwise he's out for 3 games.
TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS COMMENT. Substitute Ref was way out of his depth.

In this age it is supposed to be deliberate... endanger a player and with force none apply to what happened ... only people think its a pen are some city fans and lampard no Coventry fans are saying it...

Well, whether it's overturned or not, I would be utterly embarrassed if my 6 foot+ defender was floored by that "assault".

Very soft Red card the Coventry defender did an outstanding acting job he should have won an Oscar
Thu Jan 02, 2025 12:39 pm
Personally don’t think it was a red. Very soft.
What I would say though is it’s not the first time that refs have been harsh, so the players should know not to put themselves in a situation where a ref can be harsh like that

Another problem was the 4th official was from 2 divisions down from Cymru premier league ....so not much help to sub ref

And this is yet another reason we don't want relegation, the standard of officials drops along with the level of football

The obvious difference is how div1 or 2 refs interpretation of a foul ? We see it when premier league refs come to city ..also as he was at game he couldn't make any decisions he obviously was city fan ? Sure if all officials were originals Robinson wouldn't have got red
