Yes and the same as my point mate.
Let’s see how he goes.
I'm 50/50 at the moment but hoping he sways me in wanting him to stay over the next few games.
We all know the quality is there, he needs to show us he can still deliver it on a regular basis.
Yes mate I agree and the quality and skill set is undeniable.
I just hate the way him and Robinson bottle out of tackles.

Going by today's efforts he already has a contract with Leeds for next season.

Nope

I’ll start by saying I wasn’t a fan initially. But His footballing brain stands out a mile, with his positioning and running off the ball and lately you can see the accuracy of his crossing.
And yes he does bottle some challenges, but he’s a winger and he’s nearly 30. And most wingers of all ages bottle challenges.
But with the ball at his feet he’s taken a long time to get things together. Let’s be honest he looked clumsy and lost possession literally every time in a lot of matches. But he seems to be getting there on those aspects.
That time he had out of the game obviously shows how easily a player loses the higher skill set needed at this level.
If I was managing him I’d be saying, we’ve helped you rehabilitate and get back into the game, show me fully between now and the end of season what you can do and I’ll give you a 2 yr contract.

I think English football is too quick for him, he last played over here in the premier league 20/21 season, and the timing and decision-making are not coming back. He was terrible this afternoon.

Agree with this. So Yes.
Last week he was one of our best players. He came off the bench with Salech and made a big difference. For some reason we chose not to start with him and Salech. El Ghazi started well today but was supposed to be linking with O Dowda (rusty) and Robinson (lazy). It didnt work.
He then faded along with our hopes. Simplesimons suggestion makes sense. (The same approach with a 12 month offer to Robbo should also haveeb taken

60/40 against after that performance.

Just a reminder of what was said two weeks ago........

Leave it until later in the season, but after a lengthy injury, he looks like he’s getting back to his best and can play his way to a new contract!

no thanks, he's a gamble , which in this current team, we cannot afford to take.

At the time of writing..
3 Goals
1 Assists
14 Started
22 Matches
1,110 Minutes played
6.49 Rating
A goal or assist every 277mins or 3 full games worth of minutes. Not good enough, in my opinion. You offer a contract to someone who's got double his return (minimum) in my opinion.

I don’t think el ghazi wants to renew his contract here. I think this year was always about getting himself fit again and in the shop window to get a better move in the summer on a free. I think he’s a really good player and while he hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees for us not a lot of players have this year. Towards the end of the year as the relegation battles heats up I think we may see him play less and less as he becomes more focused on his summer move

Well he's certainly done himself no favours this season with his performances for us.
Anybody who's had him watched cannot think he's worth a contract based on what he's done so far. Of course he may get a club to give him a contract based on his reputation but I just can't see any Premier League or ambitious Championship club willing to take a gamble based on what he's done (or rather not done) for us this season.
He could still come good of course but so far he's been a massive disappointment.

Nope, not consistent enough.
Wed Feb 19, 2025 4:10 pm
No way
He flatters to deceive
No way is he a starter only good for the last 15 mins or so
Wed Feb 19, 2025 4:12 pm
As for getting fit
he has been here for months and is still not fit...
Wed Feb 19, 2025 7:23 pm
Not for me, If he isnt fit now then he never will be, picks his games when he wants to play and in them hes brilliant to watch, but those games are very few and far between which makes me so frustrated and angry, sorry but theres better young and hungry players available that I would rather see wear the shirt.
Unless his performances improve to the end of the season, but a this point in time its a no from me.
